Mail Merge: Converting Outlook Calendar Appointments Into Invoices In Word - Excel |
|
Right now I copy and paste location, subject, date, message body, etc. into each invoice (MS Word), and I need to automate the process.
I am most comfortable with mail merge, so I started there.
I exported my calendar into excel, then created a mail merge template.
I ran into trouble trying to add multiple appointments to one invoice.
I'm looking for general comments about the best method to convert my calendar entries into invoices.
Thanks for any help

Basically I want to export data from excel worksheets to various places on a word document I had. I have created a word template as well as bookmarks for that template, as that seems to be the recommendation for performing such a task with excel.
My problem is ... Now what?
I basically have 1 constant worksheet that contains all my affiliates info (Name, Address etc), which i'd like to use to populate some bookmarks in my word template, and then i have another worksheet for the previous month, indicating sales etc for that affiliate. I intend on adding a new worksheet every month that i would use to create new invoices.
Furthermore, i'd really like to be able to update a new file (or perhaps a new page on the same file) for each company with the use of a button, similar to the one's you'd see in an access form.
Can anyone help? Let me know if you need me to clarify.
Thanks!
Matt
Code:
Sub Mail() Dim OutApp As Object Dim OutMail As Object Set OutApp = CreateObject("Outlook.Application") OutApp.Session.Logon Set OutMail = OutApp.CreateItem(0) On Error Resume Next With OutMail .To = "cbelcher@jpfryelaw.com" .CC = "" .BCC = "" .Subject = "Burden Report" .Body = ActiveSheet.Range("A1:D12") .Attachments.Add ("C:\Documents and Settings\cbelcher\Desktop\Burden Report.xls") End With On Error GoTo 0 Set OutMail = Nothing Set OutApp = Nothing Set objMsg = Nothing End Sub
A specific problem is cells which don't have borders show up with very light grey borders in Outlook. This, I do not want.
TiA
worksheet. The first column of the table is a list of numbers. I tried
converting the table into text with manual line breaks and tab stops to
divide columns and rows, but that didn't solve my problem.
Excel pastes the data into several rows. When I try to merge them, I
get a warning that the selection contains multiple data values, and
merging into one cell keeps the upper-left most data only.
What I tried that didn't work:
* Formatting the Excel cells as text before pasting the data.
* The various options for "Paste Special." The closest I got was
inserting the table as a Document Object, which could be a workaround,
I guess.
What I am saving for when all else fails:
* The obvious solution of copying row by row into one Excel cell.
The data in the table is information about my dad's medications. I
would like to have reference charts of how to identify the strength of
each tablet by its color and markings. I got the info from the
manufacturers' websites and entered it into tables in Word, which I
would like to copy into a more comprehensive file I am creating in
Excel. The first column of each table is the strength of the tablet,
entered as 1 mg., 2 mg., etc. The subsequent columns describe the
shape, color, and markings. There are 3 tables, each with about 4-5
rows.
Is there a way to copy each one - whether as a table or as text - into
a single Excel cell without losing data?
Many thanks.
The sheet/workbook are not protected, nor shared, there is no VBA code in the file...
Does anyone knows what else can it be? Everything else is working fine!!!
thanks
Some users of the macro are pressing the macro button and do not have Outlook open so the email isn't sent until they eventually open Outlook!
Thanks in advance
current date when opened, using today(). Users then Save As to have an
archive copy of their spreadsheet. However, when they go back to access
their saved sheet, the date changes from the created date to the current
date. How do I stop this in Excel?
I know that Word lets you do this by changing the code from {DATE} to
{CREATEDATE}, but I can't find a similar setting in Excel.
Please help and thank you!
In my Excel spreadsheet I have a column to store the email addresses of my clients. Every time I click on the text of an email address, it automatically opens Outlook with a new message composed to that address. How do I stop this from happening? I don't even use Outlook for my email and this is really frustrating. I've tried changing the format of the column to no avail.
Thank you; your help is most appreciated.
I am creating a basic accounting spreadsheet and I ask for assistance to automate data entry posts. I would like to have entries that are entered in the general journal automatically post to the corresponding ledger accounts. The entries need to remain in chronological order. Relative cell referencing will not work because the rows in the ledgers will not correlate to the rows in the journal because the journal but the entries in the ledger need to input on the next available row in that ledger account. Additionally, as the number of entries increase, can the ledger accounts add a new row?
Attached is a very simple example with three transactions. I have included an end state view in the ledger accounts tab.
So AHW18.787 becomes AHW18 787 and AHW18787 with
=SUBSTITUTE(A1,"."," ") and
=SUBSTITUTE(A1,".","") respectively, and
AHRTW-A18-7007 becomes AHRTW A18 7007 and AHRTWA187007 with
=SUBSTITUTE(A1,"-"," ") and
=SUBSTITUTE(A1,"-","").
What I need to be able to do is merge these formulas into one, so that no matter what format the part number is in A1, I get a version of it with spaces in B1, and a version of it with no spaces in C1. I just have not been able to nest it all together - is it even possible with this command?
Thx
For example:
If data contains 06/01/2011 in cell A1, then data needs to be pasted to "Jun" worksheet within the same workbook.
Can someone assist or can give some direction? Thank you
A1 type in 10, A2 type in =A1 (calculated A2 to be 10)
B1 type in 5
And then click the copy on B1, and then click paste special on cell B2, the only options it gives me are text and unicode text and so no matter how I paste, cell b2 will always be populated with a value of 5. I cannot imagine a simpler copy and paste and no matter what I do I can't make this work.
All cells are formatted as general. It seems that all copy and pasting of formulas in my excel has been disabled. If I open any spreadsheet on my computer, I can't copy and paste formulas, but do the exact same thing on the exact same spreadsheet on any other computer and it works no problem.
Any help?
I am looking for a method/formula that will reverse multiple text entries from "abcde" to "edcba". The entries are composed of several words that need to be reversed ie from "ab cde fg" to "gf edc ba"
Thanks
Code:
With OutMail .To = "name@name.com" .CC = "" .BCC = "" .Subject = "Attrition for" & Range("c5") .Body = "" .Attachments.Add wb2.FullName
When it sends it does not show the name in c5.
It just reads "Attrition for"
Should there be a different code?
Per say here is what I am trying to do
If a certain "word" is used from the drop down list I want the background of
that cell to change its color to "green." And if later I change the "word" to
another from the drop down list, it will change it's color to a specified
color.
The drop down list that I use was created from cells that have the colors
already in the "word", but I do not know how to make the list show the colors
so it puts the word & color automatically in the drop down list to the cell
with the drop down (if that makes any sense).
If there is a way, please spell it out simple enough for me to understand,
as I don't know fully the capabilities of formulas or vba.
inbetween the two dates. Does anyone know how to then convert the number of
days into months?
When I try to replace all commas (with nothing or with another character), I get the error message "The formula you typed contains an error."
I have tried various formats (text, general, etc.) and various file types (.xls,.xlsx, .csv) and still get the same error.
