Pop Up Alert Message To Fill The Empty Cells |
Pop Up Alert Message To Fill The Empty Cells - Excel |
|
I am not so good at VBA coding, so can you help me with this.
I have a question: In excel while we fill data if user skips to enter data in any cell can we pop up any alert message which guides user to fill up empty cells before they proceed to any other cell?
I need alert message for certain columns from column A to I,
R to S,
only U,
W to AC.
and in Column S if we skip to enter data we can either enter in column T
viceversa if we skip to enter data in T should enter data in column S.
i.e data should be entered either in S or T, Cant leave both columns empty.
I need alert message for the entire cells not for a particular range of cells.
I need a alert pop up message soon after the user tries to skip entering data in any cell in excel2003,Using VBA coding is this possible?And i dont require any validation for this.Please suggest any solution with coding.
Solution to this problem would help me a lot...
Any help would be appreciated...
Thanks in advance...

I am entering lots of family history data into a spreadsheet. At the simplest I have columns (in cells A1 B1 C1) the headings, Surname, Forename, Year. Right now, I enter in cells A2 B2 and C2 say: Smith <Tab> John <Tab> 1555 <Enter, move mouse to the A column in the next row down). What I want to happen is when I have entered the last data in a row and pressed <Enter> I move automatically to the A-column in the next row down.
Is this possible?

I have a worksheet that is locked and protected now, except for cells in a certain collumn. I have named the cells in that column "MS96A".
If a user enters a date in a cell or range of cells anywhere in the column, the changed cells also need to be locked and protected (Once they enter a date, it is not allowed EVER to be changed again. Corporate requirement! *Shrug*).
What I am looking for is this. If the user selects that cell again, they will get the usual pop-up message, "The cell or chart that you are trying to change is protected..."
I think I am close, but I am getting an "End If without block If" error on the If Clause.
Sub Worksheet_Change(ByVal Target As Excel.Range)
Dim MRange As Range
Set MRange = Range("MS96A")
' If Not Intersect(Target, MRange) Is Nothing Then For Each cell In MRange Sheets("Sheet1").Unprotect Password:="temp"
cell.Interior.ColorIndex = 3
cell.Font.Color = vbBlack
Selection.Locked = True
Selection.FormulaHidden = False
Next cell
ActiveSheet.Protect Password:="temp", _
DrawingObjects:=False, _
Contents:=True, _
Scenarios:=False
ActiveSheet.EnableSelection = xlUnlockedCells
End Sub
I need to know how to auto-fill text based on text in another cell. For
example:
Every time I enter "CHS" in Column B, I want Charleston to auto-fill in
Column C.
And when I enter "SAN", in Column B, I want San Diego to auto-fill in Column
C.
How can I set up a list like this? Any ideas?

=IF(a1=0,"ERROR","")
The trailing "" returns an empty cell. The problem is, it is not TRULY empty. If I fill that formula down, I cannot, for example, jump from one "ERROR" cell to the next by hitting Ctrl arrow-down because it seems to think that these empty cells have contents.
Is there a way to designate, in such a formula as above, to return a TRULY empty cell?
Thanks
(The reason I need to do this is for importing into Access, the database treats empty cells as NULL which is what I want. Blank (but not empty) cells screw the import process up.)
I'd like help in creating a macro that deletes an entire row that has emtpy cells in col B, C & D in the same row.
So for example if I have empty cells in b3,c3 & d3 I'd like the row deleted.
I've used the code below for just column B but I need to include column C & D as well. I tried putting Columns("B:D") but it deletes everything.
Code:
Sub Step4() On Error Resume Next Columns("B:B").SpecialCells(xlCellTypeBlanks).EntireRow.Delete End Sub
I'm sure it's something simple... like me !
Any help much appreciated

I have the AutoOpen code that starts things off, and then, in turn, loads the UserForm with the fields that need to be populated.
I can't figure out how to route the user back to the UserForm, to enter the 'missed' data.
pretty straight forward to set a single validation so that a message is
displayed when incorrect data is entered. However, adding another validation
seems to delete the old one. Thanks in advance.
My goal is to drag and fill (or paste) in a colum with a range of rows wiht some hidden (filtered out) rows, and have the filtered out data be unaffected, if that makes sense.
Thanks!

I need the necessity do delete a sequence of sheets in my workbook.
If I use this code:
With ActiveWorkbook
If .Worksheets.Count >= 5 Then
For n = 5 To .Worksheets.Count
Worksheets(n).Delete
Next n
End If
End With
I receive a confirmation message box with this message:
"Data may exist in the sheet(s) selected for deletion. To permanently delete the data, press Delete" [DELETE] [CANCEL]
I wish to delete all sheets without receiving any message.
Is it possible?
Many thanks in advance for your kind support.

i've got the following problem:
I want users to double-click on a row on a protected sheet and then do some code based on the row-number of the clicked cell. I've protected the sheet because it contains a lot of formula's.
When a user double-clicks a row it triggers the code through the Workbook_SheetBeforeDoubleClick event.
After the code is executed Excel shows a message that the cell that was clicked was protected etc etc.
How can I prevent this message from popping up?
I've already tried
Code:
application.displaywarnings = false
but that didn't work
Thanks
The question:
How can you prevent a cell's contents from overflowing into the next cell?
Of course, you can make the column wider or turn on text wrapping, but you might not want to. Each of those solutions can mess up the layout of your sheet. You may just want to truncate the value.
Some people have suggested putting a space in the next cell. This is unnecessary, a pain in the but, and will mess up any ISBLANK type formulas, among other things.
The solution:
Select the cells in question and turn on text wrapping (Format>Cells>Alignment>Wrap Text).
Now select the row(s) in question and manually set the row height, by right clicking the row number and selecting "Row Height". Check the height of an adjacent row for a good value.
Your cells will now not spill over either horizontally or vertically. They will simply truncate anything that doesn't fit.
Be careful now, because parts of your data may be hidden. This can cause its own set of problems if one or two digits are neatly hidden away. Think ahead if other people might be using this sheet, and not be expecting to have some data hidden.
Tested in Excel 2002
triangle. I copied it to create a new data set and used find &
replace to change the worksheet references to the new ones.
The cells still contain the result of the old formula referring to the
previous worksheets. The only way I can get the formula to return the
correct result is to edit (F2) each cell and press enter. Calc now
(F9) does nothing.
I've seen this before, but this time, I need to calculate many
thousands of cells and don't have time for this workaround.
Any ideas?
Thanks.

Help
My Cell C3 is a numeric value.....I have set conditional formatting to
make the text red and bold when the number is equal or less than 10,000
is there a way I can make cell E3 display a message when the C3
condition is true?? or if not a message is there a way to make a
message box pop up when my C3 condition of less then or equal to 10,000
is true?
how would I do something like this?
In simple terms, you can't enter data in cell X, until cell "Y" has been populated with something.
Can anyone help with this, because I can't figure it out....
If I drag a formula to the right it adapts the column letter in the formula from A to column B, which is standard Excel functionality.
However, if I drag the formula to the right I want Excel to skip a column each time.
In other words:
=A1 ; = B1 ; = C1
Should be
=A1 ; = C1 ; = E1 etc...
Is there an easy trick to do this?
Thanks,
Michiel
