Macro: Check Recipient Email, Warn If Sending Through Wrong Account |
Macro: Check Recipient Email, Warn If Sending Through Wrong Account - Excel |
|
I am new to Outlook VBA, but based on my (limited) experience, I am sure that the following problem should be solvable. Any help or pointers would be much appreciated)!
1) I have multiple email accounts in Outlook.
2) I am trying to write a macro that will engage after I click "send" on an email, then...
a) check recipients' email addresses (domains)
b) based on results, warn me if I am sending the message through the wrong account
For example:
Whenever I send an email (to or cc) to someone with an .edu address, I would like to send it through my .edu account. Whenever I write to a .com address, I'd like to email from my personal account.
I know you all have limited time - if anyone can help, it would be wonderful. Thanks!

In my Excel spreadsheet I have a column to store the email addresses of my clients. Every time I click on the text of an email address, it automatically opens Outlook with a new message composed to that address. How do I stop this from happening? I don't even use Outlook for my email and this is really frustrating. I've tried changing the format of the column to no avail.
Thank you; your help is most appreciated.
Thanks in advance for any assistance.

to the email address, like change the font color or change on letter, Excel
tries to email the address. If I click in the formula bar to make the
changes, it automatically changes it back to all blue text and underlined. I
have tried to format all of the cells as "Text" to show as entered, but it
doesnt work. PLEASE HELP
Code:
Sub Mail() Dim OutApp As Object Dim OutMail As Object Set OutApp = CreateObject("Outlook.Application") OutApp.Session.Logon Set OutMail = OutApp.CreateItem(0) On Error Resume Next With OutMail .To = "cbelcher@jpfryelaw.com" .CC = "" .BCC = "" .Subject = "Burden Report" .Body = ActiveSheet.Range("A1:D12") .Attachments.Add ("C:\Documents and Settings\cbelcher\Desktop\Burden Report.xls") End With On Error GoTo 0 Set OutMail = Nothing Set OutApp = Nothing Set objMsg = Nothing End Sub
Some users of the macro are pressing the macro button and do not have Outlook open so the email isn't sent until they eventually open Outlook!
Thanks in advance
I am a new user and trying to setup a database in excel. I can select all addresses and copy but when trying to paste into excel it does so in 1 cell.
Is there a way I can paste the separate email id's into individual cells so I don't have to do it individually?
Many thanks

I would like to send SMS from a VBA macro to my mobile phone. Do anyone know how to do this?
I am ready to pay a cost per SMS if necessary.
(I asked the same question at another Excel forum without getting any reply.)
click double click on the cell before the formula recognises the account
number. I have to do this for each cell. I have tried different formats. It
is not saving me that much time.
We will be building 8 "widgets" a day.
We will work 10 hours a day.
There is a 20 minute break at 9:20 am.
Production shuts down for lunch 30 minutes for lunch at 12:30.
Production starts at 6:00 am.
Here is what I can do.
Production cycle time = (10*60)-30/8 or 71.25 minutes
If we start at 6:00 am, the first scheduled cycle completion time = TIME(6,0,0+71.25/1440)
My problem is when I am trying to use a logical "IF' statement to account for the 20 minute break or lunch and still calculate the end of each cycle time through the day I receive a number of error messages.
This is the formula I am trying to make work. I have the cell the formula is in, formatted with a "mm,ss" format.
=(IF(D4+G1/1440>9:20,(D4+G1)/24,(D4+G1+15)/1440))
I have included an attachment to help (a picture is worth a thousand words).
Any help will be greatly appreciated.
I have bought a number of books in an attempt to figure this out, and I am still stumped
I have a sheet with raw data a sheet with pivot tables a sheet with a dashboard and a simple macro
I don't have any #REF cells either.
Someone has any idea of what could be the problem?
thanks

I am creating a basic accounting spreadsheet and I ask for assistance to automate data entry posts. I would like to have entries that are entered in the general journal automatically post to the corresponding ledger accounts. The entries need to remain in chronological order. Relative cell referencing will not work because the rows in the ledgers will not correlate to the rows in the journal because the journal but the entries in the ledger need to input on the next available row in that ledger account. Additionally, as the number of entries increase, can the ledger accounts add a new row?
Attached is a very simple example with three transactions. I have included an end state view in the ledger accounts tab.
Im very familiar with how to write a macro to automatically autofilter a list based upon a Cell Value (i.e. Range =(A1)...etc.).... but what I cannot figure out how to correctly write is a way to have Excel automatically autofilter a list for any row that CONTAINS the Cell Value, instead of just the exact value.
Cell Value = "birds"
Example -- I need to filter every row so that I see every row that CONTAINS "birds" in the character-string, not just the row that = "birds".
a) is this possible?
If not, I'd like to know also so I can stop attempting to guess (-;
Thanks!!!

Code:
With OutMail .To = "name@name.com" .CC = "" .BCC = "" .Subject = "Attrition for" & Range("c5") .Body = "" .Attachments.Add wb2.FullName
When it sends it does not show the name in c5.
It just reads "Attrition for"
Should there be a different code?
I found an excellent macro this morning that allows the user to filter a pivot table based on the value found in a specific cell. This cell essentially acts as a search bar, allowing the user to type in what they are looking for rather than select it from a drop-down list.
The macro works perfectly for my purposes except in one regard: I can no longer perform a "show all" filter. If I leave the "search bar" cell blank, the pivot table shows nothing. I'm sure that there is an easy fix for this but I'm still learning the basics of how to write and use macros. How can I change the code so that when I leave the cell blank, the pivot table shows all? The search bar cell is D2.
Thanks for your time!
I'm trying to write a macro which prints to PDF and saves the file name as the contents of a cell. I've been looking through all the posts currently on this forum to get something working. I'm using the following code -
Sub PrintPDF()
Filename = "C:\Documents and Settings\samb\My Documents\" & ActiveSheet.Range("Z1").Value
SendKeys Filename & "{ENTER}", False
ActiveWindow.SelectedSheets.PrintOut Copies:=1, ActivePrinter:= _
"Adobe PDF:", Collate:=True
End Sub
The macro prints to PDF, but then it stops at the Save As stage, where I have to manually enter the name of the file and click Save. I want the macro to automatically name the file with the contents of cell Z1. I then want it to then automatically press enter. Any ideas where I'm going wrong? Any help would be much appreciated!
A specific problem is cells which don't have borders show up with very light grey borders in Outlook. This, I do not want.
