Combine 2 Date + Time Columns? |
Combine 2 Date + Time Columns? - Excel |
|
I want to combine 'like shuffling a deck of cards' two date + time columns that overlap. The second column of dates+time of day must be placed into the first date+time column where it fits in chronological order. Example sheet attached which is very short compared to the many thousands of rows in the real world sheet. There is a corresponding data value associated with each date+time. The date+times are not necessarily in any consecutive order.
I wish to do this with formulas and not VBA if possible. Any ideas please.

I hope you can help me with what I would like to do. I've searched and searched and not come up with anything yet!!
I have one sheet which is my 'data' sheet with a number of columns, one of which is a date which may be repeated.
I then want to use another sheet with two cells where two dates can be entered and a button which allows you to copy the rows of data from the data sheet which have dates between the two specified originally. The list in the data sheet may not be in date order although I could update a macro to do this for me if needed. I would also like to do it so that if "ALL" is typed in the date fields, it pulls over ALL the data. (Or something similar)
Any help you can give would be much appreciated.
Cheers,
Kevin
Thanks in advance for any assistance.

I am trying to calculate our On Time Delivery. I want this as a simple percentage of jobs. I have got this running in the following way:
Column M - Estimated Delivery dates
Column N - Actual Delivery dates
Column O - =IF(SUM(M2-N2)>0,1,0)
Then I have calculated On Time Delivery as: =SUM((SUM(O2:O252))/(COUNTA(N2:N252)))
This seems to work fine. My problem is, if we enter a date in Estimated without a corresponding Actual date, the formula for Column O fills out anyway and improves our On Time Delivery Percentage. How can I set this up so that the formula doesn't calculate if there is no data in Column N?
Any help much appreciated
Thanks,
James
I have two columns of data: column A contains the date and time in the form dd/mm/yyyy. Column B contains a number value. All the times are in order, so column A looks like:
01/01/2007
02/01/2007
03/01/2007
I have data from 2007 to 2010. I need to calculate an average daily value (in column B) for each month, and display it in column C. So, for January, I need to calculate the average of 31 days, February, 28 days, etc.
Is there a function I can use to do this? I've been trying the AVERAGEIF formula but can't get it to work. Any ideas would be much appreciated!
Many thanks,
Caitlin

So I am at work workin on this report and I need a function that will make Excel automatically insert the today's date in a cell (let's say D90) when I fill the content of another cell (for example C90) and the that will be inserted will never change. I tried to use the =TODAY( ) function but it keeps updating the date in the cell to the current date if i reopen the worksheet 2 days later. I need the cell to keep in the cell the date of the day when I filled in the content of cell C90 and do not updated it every time i open the document to the actual date.. Thanks in advance!!
But I do not want to insert any sheet for different dates & also the format will not be copied & paste in the same sheet. Just at the place of Date the date will be changed & the datas will be entered manually for each day.
In future, when I shall put the date, the datas will show that particular date's datas only.
Can anyone help me ?
I want to combine data from several worksheets into one worksheet.
For example, I have data in Sheet1 (Columns A,B,C), data in Sheet2 (Columns A,B,C), data in Sheet3 (Columns A,B,C) all with varying amounts of rows. (All the rows contain text data).
I need to combine all of the data from the 3 sheets into a single sheet, Sheet4 (Columns A,B,C), eliminating the empty rows.
I've been looking into this for a while, and can't find anything that really helps. Anyone got any pointers of what to look into?
Any help will be beautiful.
Cheers
Sheet 1 is the master sheet "Team Stats". There will be an undetermined number of individual worksheets to accomodate new staff.
Each worksheet will be identical, using columns A-I with row 1 having the headings:
Date, Name, Reference, Value, Price, Age, Purchased?, Destination, Add. Products (the last 3 columns will have a drop-down list which will be used to enter data into the cell).
There will be a varying number of rows in each of the individual sheets.
If possible I would like the macro to run every time data is entered into one of the individual worksheets. If this is not then it would be fien to update every time the workbook is opened.
If anyone can help it would really cut down the time I spend collating these stats every day!
Basically, I've got a sheet that contains a table of entries, and each entry gets a date stamp in the first column. I would like to have the sheet display the average time, in days, between entries. Is this possible?
Thank you in advance!

current date when opened, using today(). Users then Save As to have an
archive copy of their spreadsheet. However, when they go back to access
their saved sheet, the date changes from the created date to the current
date. How do I stop this in Excel?
I know that Word lets you do this by changing the code from {DATE} to
{CREATEDATE}, but I can't find a similar setting in Excel.
Please help and thank you!
Received Date & Time: 10/29/2010 3:27:00 PM
Completed Date & Time: 11/1/2010 3:57:32 AM
Business Hours: 08:00 AM to 05:00 PM
Non Business hours: 05:00 PM to 08:00 AM
Weekdays : Monday to Friday
Weekends: Saturday & Sunday
If I calculate TAT for this time period it should show me 1 hour 33 minutes, why because business hours are closing by 5:00 PM on 10/29 so it should not calculate duration after 5:00 PM to until 08:00 AM on next day, however 10/29 is Friday so formula should calculate the duration from 10/29 Friday 3:37 PM to 10/29 5:00 PM and again it should calculate from 8:00 AM on 11/01 Monday and formula should skip Saturday & Sunday.
In this scenario I have completed the task before 8:00 AM on 11/01 so it should show duration of 1hour 33 minutes.
Please let me know if you need any more details
I am trying to reference a cell on another worksheet, the cell is formatted to be a date. when i put in the following formula =Sheet2!A1 and i don't input a date into A1 on sheet 2 the cell containing the formula shows the date 00/01/1900, is there any way of stopping this showing, ideally the cell would be blank until I inputted a date into A1 on sheet 2
Any help would be very much appreciated
sometimes, it takes 45 seconds to calc the whole sheet, other times, it takes 5 minutes. how do i clear the cache, or what do i have to do so that it calcs 45 seconds each time.
i don't want the application to think, it would be better if those 15,000 cells can be returned in a fraction-of-a-second. any ideas/tips? thanks.
I have formulas to add a number of days to a cell containing an entered date and display the resulting new date (ie. 03/01/2011 (c34)+11 = 03/12/2011)
I am seeking to leave resulting formula cell blank until a date is entered in the input cell. Currently when the input cell is empty the formula cell obviously displays 1/11/1900 using the above example.
What conditional format would achieve leaving the formula cell blank until date data in entered into the source cell?
Hopefully a simpler question for your experience level than mine.
