Cannot Disable Outlook Email Toolbar - Excel |
|
Hopefully this is just something daft, but it has me baffled right now.
I've received an xls file via email and when it opens up (Excel 2007 here) it has what appears to be an Outlook email sending tool bar embedded above the formula bar with a To, cc and subject window and various Outlook messaging buttons on a toolbar. I've trawled through the settings and cannot find any reference to it. I've not seen it before, so a new one to me. Anyone recognise it and know how I can get rid of it please?
Thanks

In my Excel spreadsheet I have a column to store the email addresses of my clients. Every time I click on the text of an email address, it automatically opens Outlook with a new message composed to that address. How do I stop this from happening? I don't even use Outlook for my email and this is really frustrating. I've tried changing the format of the column to no avail.
Thank you; your help is most appreciated.
Code:
Sub Mail() Dim OutApp As Object Dim OutMail As Object Set OutApp = CreateObject("Outlook.Application") OutApp.Session.Logon Set OutMail = OutApp.CreateItem(0) On Error Resume Next With OutMail .To = "cbelcher@jpfryelaw.com" .CC = "" .BCC = "" .Subject = "Burden Report" .Body = ActiveSheet.Range("A1:D12") .Attachments.Add ("C:\Documents and Settings\cbelcher\Desktop\Burden Report.xls") End With On Error GoTo 0 Set OutMail = Nothing Set OutApp = Nothing Set objMsg = Nothing End Sub
Some users of the macro are pressing the macro button and do not have Outlook open so the email isn't sent until they eventually open Outlook!
Thanks in advance
A specific problem is cells which don't have borders show up with very light grey borders in Outlook. This, I do not want.

Code:
With OutMail .To = "name@name.com" .CC = "" .BCC = "" .Subject = "Attrition for" & Range("c5") .Body = "" .Attachments.Add wb2.FullName
When it sends it does not show the name in c5.
It just reads "Attrition for"
Should there be a different code?
to the email address, like change the font color or change on letter, Excel
tries to email the address. If I click in the formula bar to make the
changes, it automatically changes it back to all blue text and underlined. I
have tried to format all of the cells as "Text" to show as entered, but it
doesnt work. PLEASE HELP

I am a new user and trying to setup a database in excel. I can select all addresses and copy but when trying to paste into excel it does so in 1 cell.
Is there a way I can paste the separate email id's into individual cells so I don't have to do it individually?
Many thanks

I need to disable all kinds of messages that could appear in front of the user when it opens the workbook. I am already using DisplayAlerts=False and On Error Resume Next? Can we also do this through excel application itself and not using VBA ?
that is not even listed in my toolbar section in the Customize box. Any
other ideas?
All of the buttons were working fine. Then I saved and closed the workbook and went to lunch. Now when I open the workbook, the buttons don't work! When I click them nothing happens. They appear frozen. They don't even seem to click. No error message. Nothing.
If I right-click the button in Design Mode and select Properties, I get sheet properties not the button properties. I can't seem to locate the command button properties any longer. I still see the button name "cmdButtonGetInfo" and "=EMBED("Forms.CommandButton.1","") in the name box and formula bar. The odd thing is if I create a new button it works fine until I save and close the file. When I reopen the file none of the buttons work.
It's like the buttons are being disabled when I close or open the file. Any suggestions?
I am working with an Excel spreadsheet and saving it as a .csv file in order to upload to an application that parses out the .csv data as transactions. The system requires .csv files, so this is how I need to save my doc (with this extension). I have been successful at preventing Excel from coverting that long number into scientific format. I have saved as a TXT file, pasted the longer number and it displays correctly. That is all good. But I have to save as a .csv. So if I do that, close the Excel window, and then open again (as the .csv file), the numbers are back to being displayed in scientific format. I have tried creating an Excel doc from scratch and entering text in Text format, to see if this created a cleaner file. But again, the second I save as .csv, close the window and then open that file up again, that dang scientific format is back.
Does anyone have any idea of how to work around this? Once I have successfully gotten the numbers to display as the long-chain number, how can I get them to "stick" so that they don't revert back to scientific format when I reopen the file?
Thanks so much for your help!
I'm quite experienced Excel user. I've never come across this problem but tinkering in every conceivable way within Excel settings and the solution has eluded me.
I have added a worksheet created elsewhere (it is a form I need printing, with the data coming from 2 sheets I have created from scratch) which has pre formatted cells for Date and Client Name etc.
When I try to reference the cell in this added sheet from my 2 sheets, instead of the result, it always displays the formula, not the result.
I have tried doing it from one of my sheets to reference to this new, and that displays the result and not formula. I can't imagine why it's doing this and I've never seen it happen before.
Formatting cells, giving cells names rather than the usually adequate of reference to the Cell Number doesn't change things. I wonder if I've picked up some legacy protection from the original form but can't see anywhere in the tools etc that's obvious.
There's about 50+ cells that need referencing and I got to get this done for work.
Please help me. This is my first need to post on a Excel Forum as I've always found help or answers from other peeps or internet but this one is making me scratch my head big time.
Looking for some help and would appreciate your help. I want to prevent people cutting/copy/pasting on a spreadsheet I have developed. A couple of users keep doing so which in turn knackers my formulas. There will be occasions where I will need to be able to use these functions for maintenance and updates. Ideally I would like have a private marcro which I can run to enable these features as and when needed.
I've been at this all morning and feel like I'm going round in circles. I've tried various bits of code (sourced via google etc) & have ended up with a whole manner of outcomes but not the one I want.
To summaraise what I am looking for is some vba code which will do the following Disable cut, copy and paste when sheet is opened Enable cut, copy and paste when closed Have a macro which when run will allow me to cut/copy paste so as to implement updates when necessary.
Can anyone help?
Thanks in advance
Sub OpenPDF() 'Dim pdf As String On Error Resume Next 'pdf file to open pdf = "K:\PDF\mypdf.pdf" 'open the pdf file ActiveWorkbook.FollowHyperlink pdf End Sub
So then I tried to create an instance of acrobat by setting a reference to the acrobat object but I can't get this to work either!
The code I'm using is Code:
Sub OpenPDF() Dim pdf As AcroPDDoc Dim strPDF As String Set pdf = CreateObject("AcroExch.PDDoc") 'pdf file to open strPDF = "K:\PDF\mypdf.pdf" 'open the pdf file pdf.Open strPDF End Sub
Any ideas what could be wrong with either approach?
Thank-you
