Printing Issue - Fit To Print 1 Page Wide

I have a spreadsheet that fits fine 1 page wide when I go to page setup and adjust the scalingto 63%. Normally I like to use the "Fit to Print 1 page wide" option but when I select that option the scaling adjusts to 39%.

I have gone out and deleted all columns to the right and all rows below the area that I want printed to make sure tehre isn't something out there that it is trying to print but it still reduces the size too much.

I have attached the file that I am tryingto format the printing.

Thoughts?

How can I stretch a spreadsheet to fit the page? If I try to make it one page by one page, it changes nothing. If I change the percentage, it becomes two wide...I am just trying to change the height so that it can be read on an 8.5 x 11 piece of paper.


I added a print button to my userform

This prints out the userform as I would like, however it autoprints to the default printer and doesn't allow any printing options so I can't select to "print to one page". So as of now it is only printing out half my form and cutting off the rest.

Any suggestions?


Even though I have used Page Layout to set my margins at .3 left and right, I cannot make my columns as wide as they need to be because the spreadsheet continues to print with one inch margins. I am on a deadline -- Help!


I have a spread sheet that prints in duplex no matter what I do. I have made sure the printer duplex function is turned off but yet it insists in printing duplex. It is only this one workbook other workbooks print fine.
I hope you have an ansewer.


All on a sudden my mouse pointer in excel is not working properly. I cannot use my mouse to drag and fill, or to adjust the page break lines in the Page Break View mode. It always is in the shape of the white cross with black border and never changes it shape when pointed at the lower right edge of cells too. Now.......what to do in order to get out of this problem.

I automating a task at work that will save some time. Seems simple enough but for some reason the code I have to cause IE to wait unil ready doesnt seem to work in all cases.

Im using :

'wait until the page loads
Do While ie.Busy Or ie.readyState READYSTATE_COMPLETE
DoEvents
Loop

This doesnt seem to work well enough, since actions are occuring that should NOT occur until the browser is ready.

Any other ideas as to how to make IE wait until the page is completely ready? I wondered about possibly checking the .innerHTML to verify that a unique page element is present.

I'm trying to freeze the widths of columns so that when users of the
worksheet are using it, they can't change the width. It's for editors who
write headlines for specific areas that can only be as long as the column is
wide or the text won't fit.



I have a weird one here. I cannot scroll up or down on a particular worksheet. All the other sheets in the workbook operate successfully, but this one appears to be locked. I have tried both the right hand scroll bar and the mouse. The indicator on the scroll bar moves but the page is "stuck". I have copied it out to a new workbook and this is consistent behavior here too.

Hello, what I would like to do is take a portion of a sheet..... So the cells I want to mirror are in the proposal sheet cells B32 x F51. And then mirror the exact duplicate copy to another sheet. The other sheet should have those same values at A20 X G39. What I am trying to do is have a sheet that has skus, prices, and so forth and then when I add,delete, merge, color, or do anything to the cell on the "proposal creation" sheet I want it to mirror only a specific cells to another sheet that is "salesman copy" that we will print to clients. So this way ont he proposal copy a salesman can insert rows or even change the color of the cells and then have it mirror exactly the same on the "salesman copy" which is what we will print for clients. Firstly i haven't used excel to a great extent since my college days. So i'm having to re-learn 99.9% of everything i once new...

I am volunteering for a non profit organization and trying to create a reservation system for the rooms that they have - kind of like hotel software, but in excel (i did a similiar thing in college but for plane seats)

Please find it attached.

What i need it to do:

Copy all of the info from the main page to the guest lit (a new row each time).

From the guest list to the Gannt chart - i did a few tutorials on dynamic gantt charts using conditional formatting but cannot get them to work when based on data on a different worksheet.

Finaly is there a way to check for availabilty on any given date?

if just someone could point me in the right direction, i would be appreciate it so much words can't express!!!

Using VBA, I am trying to retrieve the contents of the Source of a web page (the same as would appear if you right-clicked on the page and chose "View Source") into a variable so I can work on it in VBA (using InStr, etc.).

The problem is I can use code such as
strHTMLText = ie.Document.body.innerText
or
strHTMLText = ie.Document.body.outerText
to retrieve the code, but in either case only part, not all, of the source code is captured. I need ALL the code. Is there some kind of code such as ie.Document.body.allText or similar that would perform this function?

Hi All,

Random question i have a large Excel Workbook (which is protected) and has over five sheets on it - however one sheet has randomly decided not to scroll... yes i know sounds random! If i use the cursor and down arrows the selection just disappears off the screen.
The page will scroll if i filter by one field, but not if i select (All) for all filters.
All other worksheets scroll fine.
Any suggestions?

I am puzzled by a thin black line (that looks like a border line) on a spreadsheet that I am unable to remove, whatever I do. It starts halfway across column B and stops just at the end of column Z.
It is not a border line.
It is not a page break.
If I delete the rows it appears on it remains visible.
It is not an object floating on top of the spreadsheet.
Any ideas?

I have a problem sometimes. I will click on a cell to add information.
The cell turns blue and then wherever I move, it highlights those to.
No matter where I go on the page. If I Alt-Tab and work in another
program on my computer, that excel page keeps highlighting wherever
I move even in those other programs (I know this sounds confusing).
When I return to excel thousands and thousands of cells are blue.


The biggest problem is that the highlighting won't turn off, no matter
what. I can't select anything from the tool bars, do any work on the sheet or close the program.
I can close it only with the task manager but when I open it again,
the cursor is still stuck in the highlighting mode and won't perform any
other functions.

Do you think this is a problem with my computer, the excel program? I have changed my mouse and this didn't help.
Is there some shortcut to turn off this highlight feature other than restarting
my computer. Which is the only current way I can get rid of it.

I did a search in here but didn't find an answer so here goes nothing...

I have a spreadsheet with data from A1 to H1 down to A275 to H275. I select all of it, Copy, go into the Sheet2 tab and select A1, Paste Special -> Transpose and it give me the following error message:

The information cannot be pasted because the Copy area and the paste area are not the same size and shape. Try one of the following:
- Click a single cell, and then paste.
- Select a rectangle that's the same size and shape, and then paste.

For the life of me, I can't figure out why it's not working! I have done this many times with other spreadsheets. Has anyone ever experienced this? If so, were you able to resolve it and how?

is it possible to put two formulasinto one cell?

On the attached timesheet there are columns IN, OUT, IN,OUT
The lunch time is worked out by deducting 'C8 from C9' and this works fine when all 'IN, OUT' cells are filled in but for some reason when just the first two cells are filled in it gives a -12 hour answer.

looking at cell 'C11 ' in the attached worksheet, I currently have the formula
=IF(C13=0,","SUM(C9-C8)) The reason for this is to make it look tidy by having blank cells until a calculation is needed,, My problem is, If someone just comes in for the morning one day for instance 8am to 12 noon then they won't have lunch, but C11 will show -12:00
Can I put another formula into C11 to tell it not to deduct C8 from C9 until a time is put into C9.
The following is the sort of thing (many variations) I have been trying but because I'm hopeless at formulas I'm not having any success

when I type a number or letter into a cell and then press enter the cursor
jumps way down the page to what appears to be a random cell. The one i
originaly typed in remains blank. spreadsheet was previously ok this has
just started to happen.

Here's my formula... =SUM(S7)-T5

If that number is less than -100, I want it to show as blank.

Any help?

Right now, I'm trying to accomplish this by making a conditional format...meaning when my cell equals less than -100 I make the cell color and font the same (so it looks blank, but its not). When I print it, it still shows the negative value.

Hi there,

I have a spreadsheet with some cells setup with a drop-down list containing
Y, N or N/A

This is being used on a TabletPC but if I make a mistake or need to change
back to a blank field I have to invoke the soft keyboard, activate the cell
and hit backspace then close the soft keyboard - quite a long-winded
procedure just to change an incorrect choice!

What I would like to do is add a blank to the list so if I have to revert
back to a blank I can just use the stylus to choose a blank from the chooser
list.

How do I add the option of inputting a blank from the Data Validation List
bearing in mind I am using the Data Validation Source box for entering my
choices directly and not specifying a range of cells?

I have tried adding "" and even a space to no avail.

Although not a betting man I would wager there is a simple 'fix' for this
but things are only simple if you know how in the first instance! ;^)

We have an Excel spreadsheet that sits on the network.
People need to open the file to be able to sign up for various duty rosters.
We would like for the file to open for the first person.
And then for any others after that, get a message that the file is in use
WITHOUT the option to open a read-only copy.
Our staff can't read and they keep opening additional copies of the file!
I have read about sharing the file and I don't think that would make things
any better.
