Locking Text Boxes In A Form Using Vba |
Locking Text Boxes In A Form Using Vba - Excel |
|
txtName, txtAmount and so forth.
I would like to lock these boxes with a few lines of code without having
to put a line in for each box. Maybe something in the order of
For each TextBox in Worksheet
.locked = true.
but I haven't been able to figure out how to do it. I found a 'For
Each' example in Help but it appears not to apply to text boxes.
I know I can do it with individual lines for each box but had much
rather use a looping method. Then, if I added some more text boxes I
wouldn't have to put additional lines in the code to lock each box.
Can anyone suggest a way to do this?
Thank you very much.

When a user clicks on a line in the listbox I want to automatically copy the text in the 3rd column of the selected line to the textbox.
If anyone could provide code which would allow me to do this I would be grateful

I want to split the lines into multiple rows.Each line should come in a different row.
I want to do this using macro.Is there is anyway to do this?
There is an option to split the cell into multiple cells on the basis of the delimiter, but there is no option to split them into rows.
I've been struggling with this for a while now and can't believe how hard it is!. I've searched on this site and on others to get some clarification but to no avail.
It's pretty simple really. I have a user form which contains a tex box for a user to input the date I want the format to be dd/mm/yyyy but can't find out how to set the format of the text box to this.
Please can someone give me a bit of guidence or link me to a good rescource if missed it in the search.
Thanks in advance.

The row in RED I want to never be changed or added in the filter, but I want row 2 and 1 to filter together. So I want (in this case) the flavor to filter with the same number. SO i guess the filter process would be dependent upon the total number of votes. Any ideas? Thanks!
I had to create the information in tables and went from there. Got it. Thanks!
Here is my issue:
I have a list of SKUs in Excel and I need to add one same word to 500 cells that have pre-existing text in the cells. See example below:
1) List of SKU's in cells:
34
35
39
55
2) text that needs to be added IN FRONT of every number:
DF
So the result would be:
DF34
DF35
DF39
etc.
How do I do that in a formula and not manually? I found another similar thread and I understand how to do it from the instructions there but the same text goes on the back and the result is: 34DF but I need it to be like: DF34.
I am using Office 2007 for mac.
Thank you for the help,
Chris
I'm going nuts trying to figure out how to autofill text from one cell
to another. For example, everytime I type text into cell A20, I want
the exact same thing to cell BL20. The same for B20, BL20, etc.
How do I go about that? I already know how to copy formulas from one
cell to another by dragging the skinny black line of the cell. I guess
I just need the formula for a simple IDENTICAL copying of text.
Thanks in advance,
Mike
My excel file will contain more than one tab.
I have to free the first two lines in all the tabs except the first one.
I tried the following code.
Code:
xlsobj.Worksheets(1).Rows("1:2").Select ActiveWindow.FreezePanes = True
But in this I have to change the Active Worksheets in VBA, Which I want to avoid.
Is there any method to achieve this without selecting the cells.
Something like
Code:
xlsobj.Worksheets(1).Rows("1:2").FreezePanes = True
I'm new to macros and would appreciate any help this board can offer. Thanks...
I was thinking of trying a nested if/and statement but I haven't quite figured out how to do it. Basically I want to identify the two values where it switches from positive to negative and also indentify the values where it goes negative to positive, I can then fit a straight line between them to find a better approximation of the intercept (though it might not be necessary). Preferably I'd like it all one function as I'm not doing it in VBA (I might do later though, we'll see).
Can anyone suggest how I'd find these value or the x-intercept. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
I'm quite experienced Excel user. I've never come across this problem but tinkering in every conceivable way within Excel settings and the solution has eluded me.
I have added a worksheet created elsewhere (it is a form I need printing, with the data coming from 2 sheets I have created from scratch) which has pre formatted cells for Date and Client Name etc.
When I try to reference the cell in this added sheet from my 2 sheets, instead of the result, it always displays the formula, not the result.
I have tried doing it from one of my sheets to reference to this new, and that displays the result and not formula. I can't imagine why it's doing this and I've never seen it happen before.
Formatting cells, giving cells names rather than the usually adequate of reference to the Cell Number doesn't change things. I wonder if I've picked up some legacy protection from the original form but can't see anywhere in the tools etc that's obvious.
There's about 50+ cells that need referencing and I got to get this done for work.
Please help me. This is my first need to post on a Excel Forum as I've always found help or answers from other peeps or internet but this one is making me scratch my head big time.
I have a userform with frames containing textboxes. The user enters a currency value and once they leave the control, then a protected textbox next to it shows the corresponding value in SEK. I started off using the exit event but ran into 2 problems.
If you tabbed out of the last textbox in the frame, the exit event never kicked in (this is documented in other topics but took some time to find). This resulted in me using the exit event for all except the last textbox in the frame that used afterupdate instead I then discovered that the exit events didn't kick in if, instead of tabbing out of the field, I deliberately placed focus in a control elsewhere on the form. Changing the event from exit to afterupdate corrected this. My question then is ... could you guys document in this topic when you would/must use the exit rather than the afterupdate event (or vice-versa).
Thanks

an object, I see how I can "lock", "size and move with cells" or "not
move with cells". No matter what I select, the object moves off the
screen, when the user, scrolls to the right of the spreadsheet.
Is there a way to lock the position, let's say , in the upper right
corner and have it stay there?
This would be quite useful for an EXIT button, that I have created,
that will close the program without saving (it's a read-only file.)
Thanks to all the wonderful people here that have been so helpful and
give us their valuable insight and time.

I have a worksheet that is locked and protected now, except for cells in a certain collumn. I have named the cells in that column "MS96A".
If a user enters a date in a cell or range of cells anywhere in the column, the changed cells also need to be locked and protected (Once they enter a date, it is not allowed EVER to be changed again. Corporate requirement! *Shrug*).
What I am looking for is this. If the user selects that cell again, they will get the usual pop-up message, "The cell or chart that you are trying to change is protected..."
I think I am close, but I am getting an "End If without block If" error on the If Clause.
Sub Worksheet_Change(ByVal Target As Excel.Range)
Dim MRange As Range
Set MRange = Range("MS96A")
' If Not Intersect(Target, MRange) Is Nothing Then For Each cell In MRange Sheets("Sheet1").Unprotect Password:="temp"
cell.Interior.ColorIndex = 3
cell.Font.Color = vbBlack
Selection.Locked = True
Selection.FormulaHidden = False
Next cell
ActiveSheet.Protect Password:="temp", _
DrawingObjects:=False, _
Contents:=True, _
Scenarios:=False
ActiveSheet.EnableSelection = xlUnlockedCells
End Sub
form, where the user can enter the Last Name of the person they are searching
for.
