The information cannot be pasted because the Copy error..

Greetings,

I am trying to copy and paste 117,000 rows of data from one worksheet to another. The method I use is CTRL+SHIFT+END.

I get the following error:
"The information cannot be pasted because the copy area and the paste area are not the same size and shape" with some lame suggestions.

I know that I can get around this issue by holding shift and then going up/down the entire worksheet, but to do so for 117,000 would be more tedious than watching most of the flashback sequences on Lost.

Any way around this?

Just select the first cell in the destination, then paste.

You are trying to paste to an Excel 2007 workbook that is NOT in compatibility mode?

So you can't paste 117k rows of data into 65k rows. Save the destination workbook as an xlsx, close, and reopen.

After I saved as .xlsx, closed and then re-opened the destination worksheet I was able to paste all of the data in. Thanks!!!
