Must edit (F2) and {enter} to get formula to calculate. Need better way.

I have an excel worksheet that adds two other worksheets in a data
triangle. I copied it to create a new data set and used find &
replace to change the worksheet references to the new ones.

The cells still contain the result of the old formula referring to the
previous worksheets. The only way I can get the formula to return the
correct result is to edit (F2) each cell and press enter. Calc now
    (F9) does nothing.

I've seen this before, but this time, I need to calculate many
thousands of cells and don't have time for this workaround.

    Any ideas?

    Thanks.

Well, I discovered CTL+ALT+F9 instead of F9 alone. That did it, now
does anyone have a way to find the cells that have circular
    references? : )

Edit>replace and replace = with = (replace equal sign with equal sign)

    Maybe one more mass change?

    Select all the cells
    edit|replace
    what: = (equal sign)
    with: =
    replace all

Maybe excel will see that it needs to recalculate each formula.

    Thanks,

I'll keep the note since that happens a lot. This is just the first
time I had so many cells involved that it was a problem.

    Hai,
usually this happened because your calculation setting set to Manual.
To change it, go to: Formula (Excel 2007) - Calculation Option - choose Automatic
