Copy protected sheet to another book?

My workbook has a protected worksheet (including mostly locked cells); but I want to allow users to copy the worksheet (either by the worksheet "Move or Copy" function, or by clicking the upper-left corner to select all cells) to paste it into their workbooks (which I want no part of).

Is there a parameter I can set in the SheetX.Protect function to allow this flexibility?

The other options I can think of are:
* unlock all cells to allow selecting and copying the entire worksheet;
* unprotecting the sheet for those specific users only (by VBA);
* giving those users the password;
* just unprotecting the sheet, period.

Excel Facts

Remove leading & trailing spaces
Save as CSV to remove all leading and trailing spaces. It is faster than using TRIM().
Take a good look at the protect function in Excel. it probably has what your looking for in there. Usually I go through and unprotect the cell I am confortable with usres typing in and protect the rest.

Then when setting up the protection just scroll through thr set of check-boxes and I more that likely find what your looking for. I usually only have one check-box checked off " second to the top" I believe.

If a worksheet is Protected you should still be able to Move or Copy. If you cannot, then perhaps you have the Workbook Protected instead of or as well as the Worksheet.

When Protecting the Worksheet, provided you allow users to select both locked and unlocked cells they should be able to copy those to another sheet anyway. Are you sure you cannot do that?

What version of Excel are you using?
