Unhappy decimal separator is comma, not period

This is driving me crazy in Excel 2010.

I can't get cell formatting to display a period to separate dollars and cents (I formatted cells Currency, with two decimal places). Only happens when I'm using the number pad on the keyboard. No other program does this, anywhere. So the keyboard is working right.

When I insert 6.80, it Excel displays 6,80 in the cell address data line, then shows 6,80 as the amount.

Also cell contents does not show $ sign even though cell is formatted Currency.

I'm about ready to reload Excel 2003!

    Any help would be appreciated.

Will you post a workbook exhibiting this behavior?
Is your code running too slowly?
Does your workbook or database have a bunch of duplicate pieces of data?
Have a look at this article to learn the best ways to set up your projects.
It will save both time and effort in the long run!

Not sure what actually happens, but Excel is using system settings that must be bad. This can be fixed by Opening Excel Options, then Advanced and un-select Use System separators. Make sure the Decimal separator and Thousands separator are set to period and comma. Good Luck.
