Average of text

This array formula** will return the entry that appears the most often. If more than one different entry appears the most the formula will return the first instance of the entry from top to bottom.

=INDEX(A2:A6,MODE(MATCH(A2:A6,A2:A6,0)))

** array formulas need to be entered using the key
combination of CTRL,SHIFT,ENTER (not just ENTER).
Hold down both the CTRL key and the SHIFT key
then hit ENTER.
