Sorry moderators if I have posted in the incorrect forum. Not sure if this can be accomplished with a worksheet function or if I will need a macro-
Basically I need the function or macro to extract the tolerance as it is written in the requirement column and determine if the actual dimension placed in the actual column is in tolerance. There are a lot of different combinations of dimensions that can be recorded. In other words their may be symbols such as ° or counterbores (special font used to display this) but it is all combined into one cell. E.G. the Requirement column could read 45° ± 0.5°, or it could read as a boxed dimension using a special font (converted it would look like: "<u?.005m?A?B?C>" This shows up as True position using a special font- I'm not sure how this will be effected by the function or macro or if that can just extract the .005 and check to be sure the actual is .005 or lower.
Their are a few more examples on my sheet- Also if possible, if the actual dimension is close to be out of tolerance I would like to highlight the cell in yellow. If it is out of tolerance then I want it to be highlighted in red. Column C is there just to help describe what information the formula needs to look for..
Let me know if you have any more questions as I'm sure this is a confusing matter..
Thanks for the help!!
