    Lightbulb Mirror spreadsheets

How can I mirror a spreadsheet so that it will look like another without switching back and forth between the 4 sheets pressing = and then clicking the same cell in the other spreadsheet?

What I have is 4 spreadsheets that are worked on by different people at the same time. What I want to create is 1 workbook with 4 tabs that just show the information being put in the 4 spreadsheets. What would really be cool is if there was a way to see the information being put into one of the spreadsheets in real time from the workbook with the 4 tabs!

this is a pretty simple solution actually.

    Ok, open a new book.

Open the 1st sheet you want mirrored.

Then right click on it, and copy it to your new workbook.

    Repeat for each sheet.

Then, in your new workbook, simply link the cells to the original sheets.

    Ta Da!

thats correct, but if someone adds a row or moves something.... it wouldn't work anymore

I bet there is a way... but I really don't know how

ok, so i think i understand what you are looking for then. you always have to go with the simplest answer first. you want an exact "mirror" not a link.

the simplest way, in my opinion, would be to try and formalize the processes that the others are doing...

do you have an example of one of these sheets they will be using to get some ideas flowing?

otherwise, you'd need some sort of copy and paste macro that could update each row, over and over, within certain limits, or cycle through it every now and then. i'm just not sure how you'd keep some formating with this.

    just my thoughts, any others?

You have 4 people working on their sheets, you are looking at the Master sheet.
    Bob enters "Cat" in A1
    Sally enters "Dog" in A1

What do you want to see on your master sheet?

..Wrap code by selecting the code and clicking the # or read this. Thank you.

    Bobs report is named Report1
Sallys report is named Report 2
Chris reports is named Report 3
Jills report is named Report 4 we have to be diverse... 2 boy 2 girls

Master sheet would have 4 tabs named Report 1, Report 2, Report 3, Report 4. This sheet is read-only.

If Bob enters Cat in A1 in his report, Sally enter Dog in A1...(I would think the guy would enter Dog and Sally would enter Cat...)

The master sheet would just reflect the same thing on the corresponding report tab name.
    Easy so far!!

Now, In the case where Sally (because shes a girl!) needs to add a row or column in her report, how does the added row exsit in the Master sheet?

    update worksheets automatically

take a look at the attached sample.
you can add a few rows to one of the sheets {robert, sally, bob or jill) and on the master summary you will get warning / reminder to hit update button.
Let me know if this works for you.
This workbook will update and copy four individual sheets to master sheets.
Master sheets are labeled M-Robert, M-Sally etc.
You can have the master sheets and individual sheets on different workbooks.
You will have to update the sheets' names in the macro.
