Can't save spreed sheet with macros?

I am working with Excel 2007. I am unable to save my spreed sheet and I think it's because the macros. Every time I hit save I get this message:

The following features cannot be saved in macro-free workbooks:
- VB project
To save a file with these features, click No, and then choose a macro-enabled file type in the File Type list.
To continue saving as a macro-free workbook, click Yes.

I googled this problem and then tried to save it in 97-2003 workbook but my spreed sheet is too big and I lose data. Is there an option where I won't lose data but can keep the macro? Sorry, as I am sure this has been asked but I have been unable to find a solution
 

Excel Facts

Remove leading & trailing spaces
Save as CSV to remove all leading and trailing spaces. It is faster than using TRIM().

The message really tells it all...

In Excel 2007 you have 2 fileformats:
- .xlsx for macrofree workbooks
- .xlsm for macro-enabled workbooks

When in the Save-As dialog, you need to select the .xlsm as filetype, then your macro's will be saved without a problem...

If you have a macro in Excel 2007, as the message states, you need to save it as a macro-enabled workbook. To do this:

In the main menu (Office Button on top left of your spreadsheet), click on the arrow alongside the 'Save As' option.

Select the option 'Excel Macro-Enabled Workbook'.

This saves the workbook with the .xlsm extension, which saves the macro with the workbook.
