Can you add a hyperlink to an object in Excel

I'm well aware that excel might not be the best program for something like this, but here goes:

I've got a jpeg of a map, which I'm putting on work sheet one.

Sheets two thru ten focus on individual countries.

I'd like to put 9 hyperlinks on the map, so if I click on the "Croatia" label, it takes me there, or if I click on the "Brazil" label it takes me there, and so on. In short, I want the hyperlinks to take me to pages within the open workbook.

How does one drop a hyperlink on top of an object?

So right click on the object, in this case an oval (named oval1_click? I'm not sure)

Click assign macro - then paste the code in? I'm getting an error message. Do I substitue the object name in somewhere?

    Image Hyperlink

It's not too hard to make hyperlinks to an freeform object. Pick a cell, and name the cell (look at the namebox right below the File menu at top left). Rightclick on the image, and pick hyperlink off the menu. Select bookmark, and then find your bookmark name on the list.

The real issue here seems to be that you have a JPG of the balkans which isn't subdivided by area. If you want, you can draw a freeform object for each country, color them all separately, and link each one to a bookmark, as I did in the attached map of the American southwest example. Otherwise, you need to get the kind of GIF or JPG mapper that web design programs (like Frontpage or Dreamweaver) use to map subareas of the map (pain in the neck). Maybe you could lay invisible outlines on top of your JPG and hyperlink those. Just select no fill color, and no lines. Probably best not to remove the lines until after you hyperlink the objects.

    Interesting project. Good luck.
