    Pivot chart formatting for weekends

    Hi,

I'm trying to highlight weekends in a pivot chart. I changed the shading color in a bar chart for each weekend day, however, the color reverts back to default when I change "Ad Slot Size" in the top left of the chart.

    Any help is much appreciated.

    Thanks,
    Michael

    Hi Michael!

I have added two columns after the Impressions Column, one column for Weekday and the another column for Weekends..with these two columns added...u can very easily achieve your goal. I have done it in the spreadsheet.

    Hi Vikas,

One last question... what if I want to change the color of the chart, from the default blue/purple? If I change the color, it will default back once I change the page fields.

    Thanks,
    Michael

I believe that excel doesnt have any solutions to this. Pivot Table automatically refreshes the colors of the series back to its default color selection. However, I can think of only one option, a Macro. I have attached your file with a Macro which automatically sets the color of the series to yellow whenever a different option is selected. Please try this and let me know if you were looking for the same thing?

    Enjoy!!!!
