How do you lock down formula calculations on a spreadsheet?

Does anyone know how to restrict certain areas in various cells throughout the spreadsheet - from being altered?

I want to ensure the formulas CANNOT be changed or deleted accidentally - and the formulas are scattered throughout the spreadsheet.

Thanks.

Crystal

Excel Facts

Select all contiguous cells
Pressing Ctrl+* (asterisk) will select the "current region" - all contiguous cells in all directions.
Hello Crystal

In the sheet hit F5 > Special > Formulas > Ok

Now go to Format Cells (CTRL+1) and on the protection tab make sure that Locked is checked.

Go back to the sheet hit F5 > Special > Constants Ok
Go to Format Cells and make sure these are not Locked.

Now use sheet protection. The exact instructions will depend on the version that you use.

In XL2003 use the menu bar Tools > Protection > Protect Sheet
In XL2007 click the Review tab > Protect Sheet
