How to eliminate special characters from text?

    I have a problem.

In order to compare strings I have to remove a special character from imported text.

It is character F008 from Unicode(hex).

This charcter is not on my keyboard.

I find it under Insert - Symbol but I can't copy and paste it to the find/replace window.

Any idea how can I key in this character so that I can use it for find and replace?

    I

    Hi,

If you are referring to Hex code : F8, then you can remove it using char(248)

    Hi Karim,

Char(248) returns something different. Something like a 0 with a diagonal cross.

My character is the one which you would call as a "accent degue" (or similar, my French is not the best. ... ( do you mean " accent aigu " ... ? )

If if char(x) was working, you still cannot enter it into the find/ replace searching field.

have you tried copying the charcter from the cell & then pasting into the find.

Or paste a copy of your book so we can look at it

    Hi,

I'm looking for this small little tiny character:

    Lescer´s Lad

    It's the apostrophe at Lescer's (between r and s).

    I can't get it.

It looks like it has nothing to do with your initial request ...

Could you test the following ...
    =Char(39) or =Char(146) ...
to determine if it is what you are looking for ...

    Hi,

To me it looks as there is no change to my original request.

F008 of Unicode(hex) code seems to be the character according to the list I get when I try to use the "Insert" Function.

char(146) looks very similar. I don't know more than the example that I have sent before, which is from the original text.

So, I'm not 100% sure which is the right character code.

However, it seems to be impossible to insert any char(xxx) into the find field.
