exporting hyperlink URLs to word mail merge

So i get a data set from my database program that includes a column of hyperlinks. I go into word and mail merge to email these links and other data to people but my hyperlinks aren't hyper. What do i need to do? Designate the hyperlinks somehow before i merge to word?

    Example below:

    Dear John,

    Welcome to the Oranges Group.
Click below to enter the oranges group:

    http://www.orangesgroup.com <--- when merged - doesn't show as hyperlink

    Thanks!

So what do i need to do to get the links to be hyperlinks in my word email?

    Thanks for the help gang.

    mike

    Hello thedudepa,

You have neither produced any code for review, nor any detailed information about the mail merge process you are using. Most likely you would need a macro to fill in each field that holds a hyperlink in the mail merge document. The more information you can provide in a post, the faster and more accurate the answer will be.

    Sincerely,
    Leith Ross

    thanks

    Thanks Leith -

I don;t use code, therefore i won't be providing any. I thought i posted in a general miscellaneous forum, not in any code related forum. If this is incorrect let me know.

I am using the word mail merge function, not sure if there is any more detail i can provide there, if there is let me know.

when i merge fields - the http:// column i have set up brings the full link in after the merge:

    http://www.yahoo.com - but it isn't recognized as a hyperlink.

You are saying i need a macro for this? there is no way in excel or word to note the column as a hyperlink?

    thanks for the help.

    Hello thedudepa,

The miscellaneous section also covers questions related to programming. I don't have a mail merge setup, but check this setting. It may fix the problem.

On the Tools menu, click AutoCorrect, and then click the AutoFormat As You Type tab.

Under Replace as you type, select or clear the Internet and network paths with hyperlinks check box.

    Sincerely,
    Leith Ross
