I am getting the error from the title of the thread when I try to change a worksheet name.

This worksheet name doesn't already exist in the workbook and I don't have any other files currently open.

I'm not entirely sure what is causing this, but I do need the sheet to be the name I am trying to change to.

Any suggestions?

Thanks

Are you sure you don't have a hidden worksheet with that name (Format|Sheet|Unhide)? If not check the workbook's references in the Visual Basic Editor.

Definitely no hidden sheets but not sure how to check the VBE references....

Peter probably has a brighter idea, I was expecting a reserved name.

I think the easiest/first thing would be to go to Format|Sheet|Unhide and see if you may have inadvertantly created it before and hid it.

In the Visual Basic Editor select your workbook in the Project window and choose Tools|References

This shows a list of available reference some tick, the majority not. Do I need to look for a reference with the name that I am trying to use?
