Regresstion in Excel

    Regression in Excel

    I have two columns of data that I am suppose to do a regression of, I have no idea how regression works in excel. I am suppose to regress one against the other. Can you guys help me get started?

    Linear regression?

    SLOPE will give the slope of the line of best fit

    INTERCEPT will give you its y intercept

    LINEST will give you both, plus some additional statistics on the fit

    TREND will extrapolate the line of best fit to give additional points.

    After you've read through the examples in Help for those functions, post back if you have more questions.
