Multiple List values in one cell

Not sure if this is possible?

I have a table in which you can select values from a pre-defined list

However on some days I need to be able to select multiple values from the list and not just one value

Is it possible to do this or if not is it possible that on the days I need to select multiple values I can get excel to auotmatically insert a line to enable me to select the second, third etc value without having to physically insert the extra line?

    Thanks

I have attached a basic table showing what I need to do

What you are asking is not possible using a Data Validation drop down, which your attachment uses.

You could, perhaps, use an Listbox from the Active-X controls and set it to the multi-select option. This requires the use of VBA.

The only downside to VBA Controls is if you want to have one per row etc and then things become a little ungainly...
On that basis you may want to think about using one control and some sheet events to have it apply to the current row, see this thread which was along not too dissimilar lines: http://www.excelforum.com/excel-prog...om-a-list.html

As Palmetto says - DV is no-go and you're looking at VBA whichever route you adopt (ie multi select control or row insertion and DV)
