Using Excel 2003 I have had this problem ocassionally, and I can't figure out what causes it or how to fix it. In a workbook of several excel worksheets I will ask to print a mulitple page worksheet and only 2/3 of every page prints. This also happens if I print to an Adobe acrobat file, and typically happens when I am printing to pdf files. The selection is correct; there are no page breaks . . . it is just some sort of glitch. The only way I get rid of it is to close down and reboot . . and sometimes that doesn't even work. Most frustrating when you have a report due.

Thank you so much

I'd guess this is a problem with your printer rather than an Excel related issue, but I suggest you reinstall your printer and/or update the drivers for you printer.

You mention that there are no page breaks.. but is there a set Print Area? (File -> Print Area -> Set/Clear..)

When you do a print preview, does it show you the whole page or just the 2/3?

Ok.. some things to check:

1. Is your printer configured to default to Landscape?
2. Is it configured to a different default paper size (other than Letter or A4, etc.)
3. If you install a new printer, using a different driver than one currently installed, does the full page print?
4. Do you have any unusually large, but possibly blank, footers?

Typically what you see in Print Preview is controlled by either the way you're defining pages in Excel (Page Setup, Page Breaks, Print Areas) or by the Printer Properties. Depending on what printer you have selected can even affect the fonts you use/see in Excel - particularly in Print Preview.

a. Printer default is Portrait
b. Paper size is letter
c. Installing new printers doesn't appear to make any difference
d. No footers

And, when I go to View -- Page Break Preview it shows me all the pages are formatted properly with page breaks at the proper places.

Plus, I can open another worksheet and it will print preview and print just fine.

I am so stymied.

Can you upload the file to a free file sharing site like yousendit.com or mediafire.com? I'd be happy to put another set of eyes on it just to see..

I just encountered this bug of Excel 2003. I eventually saw in Page setup that the print quality was unusually high: 4000 ppi. I changed it to a more reasonable 600 ppi. This solved the problem, both in the print preview of Excel and on the printers.
