Hyperlinked WAV file question

Hello

Hopefully someone can help me. I've hyperlinked WAV files in an excel spreadsheet. When I click on the hyperlinks, the file plays, but no media player is launched, so I cannot stop/pause/etc. I'd like for Windows Media Player to launch and play the file when the hyperlink is clicked.

Please help!

For what its worth Media Player opens from a hyperlink on my machines (Windows XP Home & Professional). It may be that you need to change WMP settings (?).

This shows a way of opening WMP and playing a file.

Could, for example, use from doubleclicked file name in a worksheet.
(I usually have columns with just the file name and a hidden column containing the full path.

Incidentally, you may prefer the older version of WMP. Search for mplayer2.exe - it is more basic, but more stable in use.

Also, mplay32.exe has no fancy bits.
