    Remove first digit from numbers

I have 2 cells, one has a phone number and the other has a name. Example A1 Has Phone Number B1 Name. The phone number cell has a one in front of the number (12155551212) I need to remove the 1 from it.

    Any suggestions ?

Re: How do I Remove 1

The quickest way would be to select the column,

    Go to Data|Text to column..

Select Fixed Width and click next,

In the white data preview pane, click just right of the first characters. you should get a vertical bar dividing the first character from remainder of the number.

    Click next.

Select first column in the data preview pane and then select Do not import from the Column Data format area and click Finish
Where there is a will there are many ways.
