Distributing Template

I have a template file that I have to give out to a number of users. In general, the users have limited computer knowledge or skills.

What is the most reliable way for these users to install the template spreadsheet on their own machines?

The users use different version of Excel (2000, 2003, 2007) - is there a common folder that gets examined by each version of Excel.

I can think of the following ways:
- Creating a full windows installer to add the template (setup.exe)
- Create a simple batch file to copy to the template folder (e.g. install.bat)
- Get the user to copy to the template folder

Which would be the best solution for an inexperienced group of users - I want to minimise my "technical support" during the distribution of the template.

Thanks,
Liam

Excel Facts

Can a formula spear through sheets?
Use =SUM(January:December!E7) to sum E7 on all of the sheets from January through December
If you create it in 2000 you'd be OK distributing to '03 & '07 users. As for distributing, why not just e-mail it? Are they skilled enough to open a file and save it following instructions?

(If not you should take away any sharp objects they might have and their car keys...)

If you can set up a way to automate it though then why not?

OK. Perhaps my basic question relates to which folder I should copy it to.

Can I use this folder for all versions of

C:\Documents and Settings\{USERNAME}\Application Data\Microsoft\Templates

or would this be better

C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Templates\1033

or perhaps another folder.

Remember it should be available for 2000, 2003 and 2007.

Thanks

From a programming/distribution perspective, I would imagine that the second option would be the easier choice of the two.
