Simple question..... with mazbe a possible answer.

At my internship they have an excel spreadsheet that will print as 56 pages. They want it to print in 8 pages. Preferably in 2 pages high 4 wide. I tried to specify it in the print setup... but it only makes the printed part of the pages smaller, therefor making it 117 printited pages, then alot of cutting, taping and puzzling.

Is there any way I can specify this without having to reformat the whole spreadsheet.

I know you probably will not be able to read it but this is how they want it.

Excel Facts

Using Function Arguments with nested formulas
If writing INDEX in Func. Arguments, type MATCH(. Use the mouse to click inside MATCH in the formula bar. Dialog switches to MATCH.
Under Page Setup (from the File drop down menu), on the Page tab there is a section called Scaling, where you can specify it to "Fit to 4 pages wide by 2 pages tall"

Yeah that is what I thought. But when wer tried it it came out to want to print 117 pages instead of the 56 or 58 (doesnt matter). all it did was make the image smaller on the printed page.... that just makes for alot of cutting and taping..... and a lot of wasted paper.

Am I doing it wrong???

It shouldn't, since you are telling it exactly how many pages you want. By chance, are there manual page breaks entered in the spreadsheet? If so, you will probably need to remove them.

I am not sure. I did not create it. Plus I am working wtih the German Version of Excel. And I am not familiar with all of the translations.... used to working with the english. How can I remove them.... or even tell if it has them??

If page breaks are the problem, then if you select the whole page, under the Insert drop down menu you should see an option to "Reset all page breaks". Select this.

If this is not the problem, or you need help with German translation, I am afraid I will be unable to help you.

Check and see if your printer properties has an option for printing pages "n-up." In this case, excel will send the 56 pages to the printer, and driver will print 2,4,8 reduced pages on each sheet of paper, resulting in 28, 14, 7 sheets of paper.
