Must Edit (f2) And {enter} To Get Formula To Calculate. Need Better Way. Excel

triangle. I copied it to create a new data set and used find &
replace to change the worksheet references to the new ones.
The cells still contain the result of the old formula referring to the
previous worksheets. The only way I can get the formula to return the
correct result is to edit (F2) each cell and press enter. Calc now
(F9) does nothing.
I've seen this before, but this time, I need to calculate many
thousands of cells and don't have time for this workaround.
Any ideas?
Thanks.

(changes the cells it should subtract), however, the result stays the same.
It matches the formula I copied it from, even though the cells to calculate
are now different. I even did a paste special and said only formula, but
still, same result. If I actually type in the formula, it works fine, but I
have a lot I need to copy and paste. Is there a way I can fix this?
Thanks,
I have the following in G2:
=VLOOKUP(A2,Sheet1!A:D,4,FALSE)
The formula returns the correct result, which in this case is a number 2
When I fill down my range, the formula copies correctly, but every result is the same. 2.
However, if I go to the next cell down (G3) and activate it by pressing F2, and then hit Enter, the result changes and is now correct.
Any ideas whats going wrong?
sometimes, it takes 45 seconds to calc the whole sheet, other times, it takes 5 minutes. how do i clear the cache, or what do i have to do so that it calcs 45 seconds each time.
i don't want the application to think, it would be better if those 15,000 cells can be returned in a fractionofasecond. any ideas/tips? thanks.
If I double click the cell and then hit enter it will retotal the area and then give me the correct value, but I'd obviously rather is just work right the first time.
I'm quite experienced Excel user. I've never come across this problem but tinkering in every conceivable way within Excel settings and the solution has eluded me.
I have added a worksheet created elsewhere (it is a form I need printing, with the data coming from 2 sheets I have created from scratch) which has pre formatted cells for Date and Client Name etc.
When I try to reference the cell in this added sheet from my 2 sheets, instead of the result, it always displays the formula, not the result.
I have tried doing it from one of my sheets to reference to this new, and that displays the result and not formula. I can't imagine why it's doing this and I've never seen it happen before.
Formatting cells, giving cells names rather than the usually adequate of reference to the Cell Number doesn't change things. I wonder if I've picked up some legacy protection from the original form but can't see anywhere in the tools etc that's obvious.
There's about 50+ cells that need referencing and I got to get this done for work.
Please help me. This is my first need to post on a Excel Forum as I've always found help or answers from other peeps or internet but this one is making me scratch my head big time.
I am trying to calculate our On Time Delivery. I want this as a simple percentage of jobs. I have got this running in the following way:
Column M  Estimated Delivery dates
Column N  Actual Delivery dates
Column O  =IF(SUM(M2N2)>0,1,0)
Then I have calculated On Time Delivery as: =SUM((SUM(O2:O252))/(COUNTA(N2:N252)))
This seems to work fine. My problem is, if we enter a date in Estimated without a corresponding Actual date, the formula for Column O fills out anyway and improves our On Time Delivery Percentage. How can I set this up so that the formula doesn't calculate if there is no data in Column N?
Any help much appreciated
Thanks,
James
Received Date & Time: 10/29/2010 3:27:00 PM
Completed Date & Time: 11/1/2010 3:57:32 AM
Business Hours: 08:00 AM to 05:00 PM
Non Business hours: 05:00 PM to 08:00 AM
Weekdays : Monday to Friday
Weekends: Saturday & Sunday
If I calculate TAT for this time period it should show me 1 hour 33 minutes, why because business hours are closing by 5:00 PM on 10/29 so it should not calculate duration after 5:00 PM to until 08:00 AM on next day, however 10/29 is Friday so formula should calculate the duration from 10/29 Friday 3:37 PM to 10/29 5:00 PM and again it should calculate from 8:00 AM on 11/01 Monday and formula should skip Saturday & Sunday.
In this scenario I have completed the task before 8:00 AM on 11/01 so it should show duration of 1hour 33 minutes.
Please let me know if you need any more details
Cell B5: start time: 4:15 formatted as 4:15:00 am
Cell B6: finish time: 6:15 formatted as 6:15:00 am
Cell B7: total time: 2:00 formula in cell: =TEXT(B6B5,"h:mm")
Cell B8: total batches processed: 22 (this is entered manually)
Cell B9: batches per hour: formula in cell: =B8/TEXT(B7,"h")
as long as I have this formula in cell B9 the answer comes out correct which should be 11 per hour.
If the formula in B9 is B8/B7, the answer is 264.0, Is this because of the way excel is reading the total time or the total time is formatted as a time, not an actual number? Is this the correct way to solve the problem?
answer should be 11 per hour.
Sheet 1 is the master sheet "Team Stats". There will be an undetermined number of individual worksheets to accomodate new staff.
Each worksheet will be identical, using columns AI with row 1 having the headings:
Date, Name, Reference, Value, Price, Age, Purchased?, Destination, Add. Products (the last 3 columns will have a dropdown list which will be used to enter data into the cell).
There will be a varying number of rows in each of the individual sheets.
If possible I would like the macro to run every time data is entered into one of the individual worksheets. If this is not then it would be fien to update every time the workbook is opened.
If anyone can help it would really cut down the time I spend collating these stats every day!
difference where the times cross midnight. Example:
Start time: 23:50:00
End time: 00:15:00
How would you formulate an equation to determine the duration of time or
differnce between the start and end time?
How do I enter the value in a cell (say B4) into a formula as a constant so it doesn't change when I copy it down the column?
For example,
B4 = 2.4 (a constant)
This is the result I want:
F6 =C8 + B4*4.243
F7 =C9 + B4*4.243
F8 =C10 + B4*4.243
B4 remains constant as I copy F6 down.
What's the correct formula for F6 so I can copy it down and keep B4 fixed?
Thanks.
For example: Cell A1 has a time format (hh:mm) value of 04:00; which is the Start Time. I would like cell D1 to have a text format value of "04:00" (result is dependant upon what is entered in A1). I would duplicate the same formulas to reflect Stop Times in other cells.
My final result is to have another cell (F1) use the Concatenate formula to have the Start and Stop time shown in one cell as "04:00 12:30". The times would change based on the Time formated values entered into the Start and Stop time cells.
I have researched this in the board and found many excellent ways to do the opposite, but not convert Time format to Text format. Any assistance is greatly appreciated.

E.g.
Manchester United 3  0 Arsenal
Prediction: 4  1
Points: 1
I've found a formula online that works for most scores; the correct score (e.g. 3 0), a correct win (e.g. 4 1), and in the case of a draw (e.g Man Utd 1 1 Arsenal, and the prediction 2 2), correct draw (but not the correct score). The points are as follows: Correct draw (Prediction = result): 4 Correct win (Prediction = result): 3 Correct win, incorrect score (Winner correct, score not): 1 Correct draw, incorrect sco 1
The formula I found online for all but the correct draw is: =IF(A3&B3=C3&D3),3,IF(AND(A3=B3,C3=D3),1,IF(AND(A3>B3,C3>D3),1,IF(AND(A3<B3,C3<D3),1,0)))))
Could someone help me work out how I can write a formula to add before the above that will check the contents of four cells (the home score, away score, home prediction, away prediction), and if the number in all 4 cells are the same, allocate 4 points? I've tried using averages, but some combinations would void this. I've also used the SUM function, but the same happens, as with MULTIPLYING.
Something like =IF(A3:D3) are equal, 4,0
Below are a few examples of what I mean:
(Result) (Prediction) (Points)
A B C D E
3  3 3  3 4
2  1 3  1 1
1  0 1  0 3
3  3 2  2 1
Apologies in advance if I haven't explained this clearly enough.
Thanks

I need help....I am working production scheduling with Start and End time but there is a lunch time and tea time. Is there any formula to calculate Start time to End time with excluding lunch time?
Here is example :
Lunch time :12:00pm to 1:00pm.
Duration Process :6 hours.
Start Time (8:00am)
End time (5:00 pm)
I need a formula to calculate from Start Time 8:00am and what is the End Time? with 1 hour lunch time...
Thanks,
ET
But it gets even more weird. When I click on the Column C cells and then it shows the formula up top in the formula bar and if I put my cursor anywhere in the formula bar and hit Return the formula does not change however the correct value then appears in the Column C cell. It is like the act of putting the cursor in the formula activates it to work properly but until it is activated that C cell shows the value of the cell which it was dragged down from.
This is quite bizarre. Has anyone ever seen this before? I have no idea what is going on. I ran a scan for viruses and none were found. I tried it on several new/different spreadsheets but it keeps happening.
Thanks for any tips on this.
I have two columns of data: column A contains the date and time in the form dd/mm/yyyy. Column B contains a number value. All the times are in order, so column A looks like:
01/01/2007
02/01/2007
03/01/2007
I have data from 2007 to 2010. I need to calculate an average daily value (in column B) for each month, and display it in column C. So, for January, I need to calculate the average of 31 days, February, 28 days, etc.
Is there a function I can use to do this? I've been trying the AVERAGEIF formula but can't get it to work. Any ideas would be much appreciated!
Many thanks,
Caitlin

I've been having a strange problem lately. I have a fairly lengthy macro that works perfectly most of the time. Occasionally it will run as expected but as soon as the macro ends, excel becomes unresponsive to mouseclicks. When I click anywhere (trying to select a cell, or an excel menu item...clicking anywhere in excel) I'll get the a 'ding' system sound and nothing will happen. BUT, if I use the keyboard arrow keys, I can see that the active cell selection moves accordingly. Then it gets really strange when I have a cell highlighted and press any key to input text, it gets duplicated. So if I press "s' it will input "ss" into the cell, and then when I press enter it will automove to the next cell down, but nothing ends up getting saved into the previous cell.
I don't understand what's going on at all. I can't think of anything in my macro that would have these kinds of effects. I've made sure that screenupdating is turned back on at the end of every procedure. If I go into the VBE, I can manually run procedures and they all work fine. The only way I've been able to get back to normal is by force closing excel altogether and reopening. Any ideas?
______________________
Still having trouble, and the same thing is happening with this workbook on two different computers, so I don't think it's a hardware, or OS specific issue. When it gets locked up like this, I can still do anything in the VBE (edits cells, run macros, etc.) with no problems. If I'm in the excel window, I can click alt on the keyboard and the shortcut keys for the menu come up, but I can't go deeper than that by clicking the letter shortcuts, they do nothing. If I use the delete key to delete the contents of a cell, then it gets deleted. But if I type anything else (numbers, letters, or symbols) then it types 2 instances of the key every time, yet when I hit enter, nothing changes in the cell. I also can't really bring focus to the excel window if something else (ie. the VBE) is on top of it, clicking into the excel window just gives the little system 'ding' sound and nothing happens.
If I hit the save button in the VBE (since I can't click anything in the excel window), then it seems to snap out of it and go back to normal. I tried searching for anything simmilar to this and can't find anything...
Any help would be much appreciated. This is driving me nuts!
Can you please help me,
A1= time in
B1= time out
C1= time in
D1= time out
I want to calculate the late and under time,
Office start at 9:am w/30 mins Grace period,
The break time is one hour only, please include over breaktime in calculation.
End of office hours 6:00 pm, strickly no over time
Example:
A1: 50
A2: 10
B1: 60
B2: 20
A3: Formula: =A1+A2 Displays: 60
Right click A3, Copy, right click B3, paste
A3 displays 60
When I click save, it will change the display value to 80.
I am trying this on his workstation and mine. Mine has Office 2010, so I think there might be an issue with the file itself.
Also, not just copy and paste. I can also just click the top cell after filling in the formula and then drag the bottom right of the cell downward and it will do the same of filling in the correct formula, but have the incorrect value.
I know that I could get him to just click save each time before really looking at the results, but that is just a band aid to the problem.
Any ideas how to fix this?
