Vba Code To Enter Login/pass For Intranet?

Hello. I have an Excel macro which opens the Excel files, refreshes all contents, saves and closes them. When I launch the macro, the following prompt appears once:

Connect to Intranet
User name
Password

Remember my password

OK Cancel

How do I mimic the login/password entry in VBA to eliminate the need to interact with the prompt?

Thanks

Is there a way to lets say go to www.gmail.com and automatically have VBA fill in the user name and password ? I am trying to automate login for my co workers to a certain site. Just havent been able to find out how. PLZ HELP !!

I have found similar posts on the forum, but nothing without use of a userform.

I have the following code:

Code:

Sub Development()
    Pass = InputBox("Please enter development password", "Password")
    If Pass = "XYZ" Then
        UnhideAll
    Else: MsgBox ("Password incorrect, please try again")
    End If
End Sub

This works, but I want to hide the text as it is entered.
Is there a way I can enter this as a property? i.e. inputbox.text.property = ... or something?? I've tried what seems intuitive, but nothing works.

Help!

Hi

I need to open a password protected workbook using VBA.

I've tried the code below but I still get prompted for a password.

Code:

Workbooks.Open Filename:="\\HOME\Working\Report.xls" _
        , Password:="xxxx"

How do I get it to open automatically???

We have a large (4,000+ rows) excel worksheet from a prior employee that I
would like to be able to use, but it is password protected and no one has the
password. Is there a way to copy or save it as a different file that will
not copy the password protection? It would save me a couple days of work if
it is possible.
Thanks

I'm trying to use VBA to go to a website that requires a User Name, Password, and a Submit Button.

So far I can get everything to work besides the Submit part. The code runs without errors, but doesn't actually "hit" the submit button on the webpage.

For posting, I removed my actual user name and password and and used the generic " User Name " and " Password " highlighted in blue.

I highlighted another section in green that I took from a previous post hoping it would solve my problem. The link is: http://www.mrexcel.com/forum/showthr...xplorer+submit

Here is the code I am using:

Set appIE = CreateObject("InternetExplorer.Application")

With appIE
.navigate URL
.Visible = True

Do While .busy: DoEvents: Loop
Do While .ReadyState 4: DoEvents: Loop

.document.getelementbyid("fUserName").Value = " UserName "
.document.getelementbyid("fPassword").Value = " Password "

End With

x = x + 1

Exit For

Hey guys,

I have an excel file that is password protected. I have opened it as read-only.. Is there any way to unlock it & do it modifiable when I already opened it as read only (of course without having to close it & re-open it and enter password lol)

Thanks,

Corporate edict.

I have a worksheet that is locked and protected now, except for cells in a certain collumn. I have named the cells in that column "MS96A".

If a user enters a date in a cell or range of cells anywhere in the column, the changed cells also need to be locked and protected (Once they enter a date, it is not allowed EVER to be changed again. Corporate requirement! *Shrug*).

What I am looking for is this. If the user selects that cell again, they will get the usual pop-up message, "The cell or chart that you are trying to change is protected..."

I think I am close, but I am getting an "End If without block If" error on the If Clause.

Sub Worksheet_Change(ByVal Target As Excel.Range)
Dim MRange As Range
Set MRange = Range("MS96A")
' If Not Intersect(Target, MRange) Is Nothing Then For Each cell In MRange Sheets("Sheet1").Unprotect Password:="temp"
cell.Interior.ColorIndex = 3
cell.Font.Color = vbBlack
Selection.Locked = True
Selection.FormulaHidden = False
Next cell
ActiveSheet.Protect Password:="temp", _
DrawingObjects:=False, _
Contents:=True, _
Scenarios:=False
ActiveSheet.EnableSelection = xlUnlockedCells
End Sub

Hey guys,

I'm trying to write a macro which prints to PDF and saves the file name as the contents of a cell. I've been looking through all the posts currently on this forum to get something working. I'm using the following code -

Sub PrintPDF()
Filename = "C:\Documents and Settings\samb\My Documents\" & ActiveSheet.Range("Z1").Value
SendKeys Filename & "{ENTER}", False
ActiveWindow.SelectedSheets.PrintOut Copies:=1, ActivePrinter:= _
"Adobe PDF:", Collate:=True
End Sub

The macro prints to PDF, but then it stops at the Save As stage, where I have to manually enter the name of the file and click Save. I want the macro to automatically name the file with the contents of cell Z1. I then want it to then automatically press enter. Any ideas where I'm going wrong? Any help would be much appreciated!

I have a Workbook with 2 sheets, the first one is the data entry and the second one contains all the calculations and confidential info.
I have one staff member that does the data entry but I don't want them to see the 2nd sheet. I know I can hide the sheet then protect the entire workbook which does work, but is there an easier way so that the second person doesn't have to keep hiding/unhiding the 2nd sheet?
It would be perfect if when you tried to click on Sheet2, it asked for a password.
Cheers
Jase

I am using XL2007 and have a macro that refreshes microsoft query connections. The issue is the refreshes only happen if you step through the macro using the debugger. When you run the macro normally, everything else functions properly, but the data is not refreshed.

Any help is appreciated. Here is an excerpt of the code:

Workbooks.Open Filename:="C:\Profile.xls"
Sheets("SELECTION").Select
Range("F3").Value = SNR

' THIS PART ONLY WORKS IF YOU STEP THROUGH THE MACRO USING THE DEBUGGER...IF YOU RUN MACRO NORMALLY THE CONNECTIONS DO NOT REFRESH
ActiveWorkbook.Connections("Connection").Refresh
ActiveWorkbook.Connections("Connection14").Refresh
ActiveWorkbook.Connections("Query from C_Profile").Refresh
ActiveWorkbook.Connections("Query from C_Profile1").Refresh

I have a VBMacro Excel file loaded on a Server that numerous people access. A Macro in this file creates a Copy of a specific Sheet within the Active Workbook and I want to Save it to the individual's Desktop.

How do I find out what the current User's desktop folder path is each time the Marco is run by a different User?

Example User's path: 'C:\Documents and Settings\jfarc\Desktop'

Where 'jfarc' is the name of the current User which, will of course change with every different User that runs the Macro.

Also, is there a way to pull out of Excel what is the current User's 'Options | General | Default File Location' entry? Which may differ from the above directory.

I am familiar with and use the following coding for Opening/Saving files to the current directory of the opened workbook, but it only gives the path of the existing Excel workbook and not the current User's Directory Path:

Dim wbThis As Workbook
Set wbThis = ThisWorkbook
ChDir wbThis.Path

Hey there,

I have been tasked with introducing userforms into an excel sheet and tbh I'm quite amazed that excel has this capability of adding userforms to excel sheets.

Anyway, I have 2 columns of data in an excel sheet and I wish to add this to a userform so that the userform displays the 2 columns beside each other with headings, like a table. The user should then be able to select a particular row and insert it into the specified cell.

I would also like the user to select a row on the table and then be able to bring up another table depending on the row selected...basically so that the user can draw deeper into the information that they require.

I have an example excel sheet where I have 2 sheets. One sheet is the user entry sheet called User Entry Screen. the next sheet is the tables sheet where my tables are held. Once the user selects the cell shown in the example sheet, it should then bring up the user form. the user then, depending on which item clicked, then gets shown the next window with a table and info on it. then user should then be able to select an item and the cells on the user entry screen would then get populated.

Personally I think this is a really tricky challenge and any help with doing this would be extremely appreciated.

I'll post up further comments as I am trying to work my way through it!

Thanks,

Jag

Hello,

I have a number of different files that I often need to run a macro on. In order for me to do it on the 75-100 files I have at any given time, I need to open one, run the macro, close and save, then open the next one.

Is it possible to write a macro that will start with the first file in a folder, open it and update links, run a macro, save and close, and open the next file in the folder until it has open all the files in the folder.

I have experience with creating macros that reference different workbooks, but not sure how to go about opening files with different filenames (without referencing the exact filename).

I'd like to be able to have basic code for opening, saving and closing, opening next file, saving and closing, etc. and input the macro I'd need to run in each file in the appropriate location. Is this possible? Any help is greatly appreciated!!

Thanks,
Jason

How do I grant only specific people to be able to open, view, edit an excel file? I don't want anybody else besides these two people to be able to even open the file, so I'm not talking about password protecting to prohibit editing a file. I would assume I need to go to the properties, security settings but I'm not sure?

Hello,

I am new to using Excel and I am not very computer literate. I am looking for some help with a spreadsheet I am making. Here is the problem:

I have a column of 14 numbers in cells A1 to A14. If all of these values are less than 2%, I would like a "Pass" to display in cell B1. If any of these values are greater than 2% I would like a "Fail" to display in cell B1.

I have got a formula that works for a single cell but I can't figure out how to get it to apply to more than one cell. For example, I have entered =IF(A1<2,"Pass","Fail") in cell B1. Now if the value I enter in A1 is less than 2, it shows a "Pass", and if the value in A1 is greater than 2 it shows a "Fail" in cell B1. How can I get this to apply to all of the cells from A1 to A14?

If somebody could help me out that would be great.

Thanks,
Randy

I am using the code below to disable the save function very successafully. However, is there a work around to allow a macro to save?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Private Sub Workbook_BeforeSave(ByVal SaveAsUI As Boolean, Cancel As Boolean)

'this disables the save function on the XLS

MsgBox "****Save is Disabled****"
' Following line will prevent all saving
Cancel = True
' Following line will prevent the Save As Dialog box from showing
If SaveAsUI Then SaveAsUI = False
End Sub

Can anyone help me with creating a macro that will save the worksheet as a pdf in a specific folder with the value of a cell and the date. This is what I have so far.

ActiveSheet.ExportAsFixedFormat Type:=xlTypePDF, Filename:=Range("H10").Value & Format(Date, "mmdd")

This saves it as the correct cell value + the date, but it saves it to my documents. I need it to save to a shared folder on a network drive.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
THANKS

I got the below macro which uses IE and open the URLs. I want to create a userform with listbox with radio button and commandbutton on the same which will help me to connect to each url when I select the same in listbox and click on the commandbutton.
Code:

Sub DoBrowse1()
    Dim ie As Object
    Set ie = CreateObject("Internetexplorer.Application")
    ie.Visible = True
    ie.Navigate "www.google.com"
End Sub

Any suggestions..
