I am making an algebra test with questions that require my students to graph a linear equation. The test is in word, but I would like to insert (from Excel - since I gather it will be easier to create it in Excel then word) an xy coordinate graph. Any suggestions

(BTW - I am using Excel 2003, but if I must I can use Excel 2003)

Thanks,

Gene Klein

Excel Facts

Enter current date or time
Ctrl+: enters current time. Ctrl+; enters current date. Use Ctrl+: Ctrl+; Enter for current date & time.
Actually, to try and be a little more helpful, I just knocked up a simple XY chart in Excel (2003! :) ), and then copy/pasted it into an existing Word document, it seemed to work fine.

Which bit, specifically, are you struggling with ?

That is the bit I guess - making an (empty) XY Chart - so all I would have is the grid with a vertical line indicating Y, horizontal line indicating X and the intersection indicating the origin.

(And sorry about the typo)

I see.

Here's one way.
Set up some dummy data, and make an XY chart using that data.
Just use one data series.
Set up the dummy data so that the axis scales are the way you want them.
Then format your single data series on the chart so that it has no line, and no marker symbol, and it will become invisible, but the rest of the chart will still be there.
You might also want to delete your legend.
