    Pivot Table Too Large?

My source data table is 74 columns and 1,297 rows. I am trying to create a
pivot table with multiple columns from the source data as the "data" in the
pivot table. When I try to do this I get an error that says...
"Excel cannot make this change because there are too many row or column
    items...."

Is there a limit on the size?

    Any suggestions?
    Thanks!

    RE: Pivot Table Too Large?

I searched Excel Help for "limits". In the Pivot Table section I found this:

    PivotTable reports on a sheet:
    Limited by available memory

    Items in a PivotTable report:
    8,000

Row or column fields in a PivotTable report:
    Limited by available memory

Page fields in a PivotTable report:
256 (may be limited by available memory)

Data fields in a PivotTable report:
    256

Calculated item formulas in a PivotTable report:
    Limited by available memory

    Does that help?
