Data Validation Autocomplete

I'm using a very long validation list for a drop down menu. Is there anyway to setup the drop down so that one could start typing and the list would immediately eliminate to less options?

For example, my list consists of 3000 plant names. Instead of scrolling down to choose a plant that begins with a letter P, is there anyway to start typing "P" in the cell and have the list pop up and jump down to entries that begin with "P"?

I know I've entered data with such a function but can't figure out how to set it up?

I've have been there before, but I still have problems getting the validation to work correctly, it work untill I need to add and/or remove bus numbers.

VBA Noob is right ...

For data validation with the Autocomplete feature, Debra's solution is the perfect solution ...and it working well, provided the user remembers he has to double-click the cell ...

@ David, regarding "bus numbers" you only have to adjust your ranges ...

I tried this solution and it works wonderfully, until you click on a hyperlink within the sheet that leads to another document. Any ideas on how to fix this?
