margins not right

It could be your printer driver. I believe if your printer driver does not allow you to make your margins less than one inch, it will overwrite what you are selecting in Excel.
Do you have another printer you can try printing to?

That is a good idea, but I have never had this problem on my printer before.
I just worked out the problem though - so simple I was shagrinned (sp?)
I went into Print Preview in Excel 2007, then selected the Print Preview icon within Print Preview and then selected Page.
Finally I just selected Page Setup and Print to 1 page by 1 page.

Did you recently install a new print driver or new version of Windows?
I read recently where some old print drivers don't work well (or are even not supported) in Windows 7, so if either of those things changed, it could change the way things work.
Anyway, I'm glad you found a work around.
