Hello dandcp,
Are you referring to the 'Insert' menu alongside File, Edit, etc..? If so, do the following and let us know if it's fixed:
1. Open Excel
2. Right-click on the Sheet1 tab and choose 'View Code'
3. Copy and Paste the code shown below into the empty VB Editor window
4. Close the VB Editor window
5. Press ALT+F8, select the macro 'Sheet1.Test' and click Run
That should reset your entire Menu Bar. If that doesn't work let us know (and let us know if you receive any errors). Make sure the Worksheet and Workbook are not protected, too.

Thanks, that fixed the insert/worksheet on the menu bar but when you right click on the sheet name tab on the bottom the menu that pops up still have the insert one greyed out.
How did it all get like that?
THank you
Run this code to fix the Sheet tab right-click menu:
It probably got deactivated when you ran a different macro from some other workbook. Please Login or Register to view this content.
Beautiful!
Thank you so very much.
I am having the same issue as the OP but neither macro code is enabling the greyed out options for me.(see screenshot attached) I am using Excel 2007.
Its obvious from the screenshot that its not protected so thats not the issue.
Any ideas?
Thanks.
