Here's a challenge for you.

When working in a pivot table I want to use the label filter on one of the fields. Problem is I want to use it for multiple text strings on the same field.

For instance, I want to grab items that have 74130 OR 74135 or 73265 in them.

I can't seem to make anything but one string of text work here. I would think there's got to be a way to do this with some sort of specific command.

Help?

Excel Facts

Get help while writing formula
Click the italics "fx" icon to the left of the formula bar to open the Functions Arguments dialog. Help is displayed for each argument.
Currently, Pivot table do not allow any filter.

In order to allow filter to work, cover the range from outside the pivot table into
the range of the pivot table.

Assuming your range in the pivot table is A11..K11, highlight the range from L11...A11 and
click filter.

This should allow you to use filter for mutliple string.

I dont understand what u want to achieve but still simply go to

the "pivot table field list" go to the required field where u want to apply filter.
In the filter choose only the value that meet ur criteria i.e.
choose only 74130 OR 74135 or 73265 values and u get result accordingly

and still not able to solve the issue then welcome to the world of VBA

Use a "Manual filter" (according to More Than One Filter on Pivot Table Field « Contextures Blog), i.e. don't choose to view the list of possible filters but look beneath that option to the list of items, uncheck them all and then check only 74130and 74135 and 73265.

I don't think there is a way of saying "label equals 74130 OR 74135 OR 73265" using the filters menu.
(Sorry for being 3 years too late)
