I would like to fill several cells with a color fill and then apply the gradient option to the cells as a group. Excel 2003 will not allow the options for cell color fill. The options are available for a text box. Does anyone know how to color several cells and have the color fill subject to the gradient over the several cells?

Excel Can Read to You
Customize Quick Access Toolbar. From All Commands, add Speak Cells or Speak Cells on Enter to QAT. Select cells. Press Speak Cells.
Try merging the cells first.

Note that this is a bad idea if you plan to use code (VBA) with these cells.

I have tried merging cells for titles, filling with color but the options for effects like the gradients does not appear on the fill selection dropdown box.

Merging is not an option when the several cells each have their own data in them.

I am open to other options.
