Hi All,

I want to make my pivot table uneditable (read-only)! I have to post this sheet on internet and users will download/read it directly from website. I want that those users should not be able to edit any of the contents of the pivot table in other words they should have read only access! Can you please help me?

Thanks in advance!!!

Excel Facts

What is the last column in Excel?
Excel columns run from A to Z, AA to AZ, AAA to XFD. The last column is XFD.
It seems to me that pivot tables are by their nature dynamic and meant to be manipulated by users. Are you saying you want to protect the source data or the appearance of the pivot table itself? If the former, I don't think pivot tables can be used to change source data. If the latter, it sound like you don't really want a pivot table published but just the hard data, so perhaps make a copy of the pivot table instead of the "real thing"...

1) Select All cells
2) Right Click Copy
3) Right Click Paste Special Paste Values
4) Right Click Paste Special Paste Formats

Publish the "hard copy" for public consumption. If you want this copy to always be up to date, record your steps with the macro recorder and have the pivot table copied to a new sheet whenever you close the workbook with the original.

HTH,
Alex
