With a small list you don't need an external list. In the Data Validation Dialog -> Source, type:
AL,AN

I want to allow users just to enter the word "blue" to a cell, if not i want a warning message. If i do it with custom and then formula =ISTEXT("blue") nothing happens. I don't want a drop down list. What can i do???
