Problem with ASAP Utilities

Yes, I did try and contact Bastien at ASAP, twice, no response.

My problem is that after downloading and opening ASAP, I got the "Setup as default Add-In" screen and I clicked "Next". I got an error message:

Automation error (Error 440)
When you access Automation objects, specific types of errors can occur. This error has the following cause and solution:

An error occurred while executing a method or getting or setting a property of an object variable. the error was reported by the application that created the object.

Check the properties of the Err object to determine the source and nature of the error. Also try using the On Error Resume Next statement immediately before the accessing statement, and then check for errors immediately following the accessing statement.

ASAP is in my Tools/Add-ins list, and is checked, but no ASAP on the menu bar. I know it should work, because I have it installed at home.

This may have something to do with it: two weeks ago, I began to install ASAP but got interrupted and had to cancel. Today, I did a search on asap*.* and deleted all those files and folders, and then began the new installation, which was unsuccessful; same error message.

Any ideas?

Barry, have you run the unins000.exe file to clear everything from the previous setup attempt? Then, when your PC is cleared of all ASAP files and registry information (and possible conflicts), re-run the set-up exe.

Hi, JW, thanks for the response. I did a search for unins000.exe on my C: drive but didn't find it. I tried going to ASAP-utilities.com to download and install it and then look for unins000.exe, but got a run-time error and got booted off the internet. I guess I'll have to wait and try again later; might be a problem ASAP is having.

Nope, didn't work. I just installed ASAP, then uninstalled it using their uninstall icon. Then I reinstalled it and got the same error.
