Hey,
Currently I am stuck on the layout of a spreadsheet to capture and predict servicing of fleet vehicles.
To explain further,
I have been given the task of looking after out work fleet vehicles, maintaining cleanliness, servicing, damage reports etc, etc.
On a weekly/fortnightly basis I collect the current km's and note them down, record any damage, book them in for scheduled service's etc etc.
What I would like to do, is have a sheet per vehicle(or all on one if I can), then have a summary sheet, with a graph/graph's, that will plot the current up to date data(km's) with the data and then also using the data to plot an estimated date/week that vehicle will require it's scheduled service.
Any advise would be appreciated.
Edit: I should add, the maximum lease is 24 months and and 60,000km's. The attached sheet, is the average km's per month(this is keep by a different person and is statewide). But something like this would be great.

I have a graph with various information in it. One is a line graph that tracks hours used in that department per month. The problem is that when it gets to the last month, and there is not yet data for future months, the line goes down to Zero (leavin this big diagonal line that makes the data look funny). I need this line to stop on the last month there is data for. (I do not manually enter the data, it is a formula that I do not wish to delete.) I know I can manually move the data that the line is pulling to make it stop on the last month, but I have a graph for 36 different departments and that's a pain to have to manually adjust 36 graphs each month. Is there a way to tell the line to stop if there is no data? Thanks!!

I'm really hoping someone can help me with this...
I need to plot percentages over time in a line graph in excel. I don't want to have to do a percentage equation in the spreadsheet, I just want excel to take two sets of values and display the percentage in the chart. For example, I need B1 as a percentage of B2 for week 1, C1 as a percentage of C2 for week 2, etc....
Can someone please offer a suggestion for how to do this? I would really appreciate it.
Also, would it be possible to link data from other sheets in the workbook into one single chart?

archive copy of their spreadsheet. However, when they go back to access
their saved sheet, the date changes from the created date to the current
date. How do I stop this in Excel?

I have two columns of data: column A contains the date and time in the form dd/mm/yyyy. Column B contains a number value. All the times are in order, so column A looks like:

I have data from 2007 to 2010. I need to calculate an average daily value (in column B) for each month, and display it in column C. So, for January, I need to calculate the average of 31 days, February, 28 days, etc.
Is there a function I can use to do this? I've been trying the AVERAGEIF formula but can't get it to work. Any ideas would be much appreciated!

This formula is supposed to calculate difference between today and date hired to give years and months of service. Works fine for all except if the person was hired in year 2000 then this formula shows 110 y. Any one know how to fix this? or have a different formula that works.

I then want to use another sheet with two cells where two dates can be entered and a button which allows you to copy the rows of data from the data sheet which have dates between the two specified originally. The list in the data sheet may not be in date order although I could update a macro to do this for me if needed. I would also like to do it so that if "ALL" is typed in the date fields, it pulls over ALL the data. (Or something similar)

Is there a way to calculate the average days between a column of dates?
Basically, I've got a sheet that contains a table of entries, and each entry gets a date stamp in the first column. I would like to have the sheet display the average time, in days, between entries. Is this possible?

I am trying to automatically capture and record the date of a cell's last change in value (date stamp). I have an item price list and if a particular cell gets updated I want to automatically record the date of change of that cell. I realize that after I change cell A1 I could tab to cell B1 and enter Ctrl+; but if I have a hundred new prices to enter I don't want to do that (plus me or the data entry person might forget).
For instance,

1 $32.17 8/17/08
2 $43.20 9/12/09
If I go in and update cell A1 to $33.98 today I would like cell B1 to read 2/16/10. But I don't want cell B2 to change.

This may be less of an Excel question than a general data display question, but I'll try here.
I have 3 variables that I'm charting. I have one on the primary axis and it's values are in the billions. I have one on the secondary axis and it's a percentage. I need to display a 3rd who's value is in the millions. If I put it on the primary axis, you cannot see modest changes.
Is there a tricky way to get all three on one graph? I know I could split on two graphs, so that's my backup plan.

I use a excel file through the course of the day and need to insert the current date in one column and the current time in the next column. I want to be able to just highlight the selected range of cells I need to insert into and hit a macro button and have the date and time inserted into just the cells I have highlighted. I'm not sure how to make this work with just the cells I've highlighted. Any help any one can give me would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

I'm trying to come up with a solution to calculate the man hours and days worked over multiple sheets.
I have a file that has 8 sheets. the first seven sheets are the days of the week and the 8th sheet is where I want to calculate the hours.
The days of the week consists of "Name" "Date" Hours"
The 8th sheet consists of "Name", "Days of the week in their own column (7 columns in total)", "Total Hours" and "Total Days Worked"
Now... each day is always a different group and what I'm hoping for is to create a formula that can grab each name with their hours and throw them into the 8th sheet. So when the end of the week is done I have all the Employees weekly hours and days worked all finished.
I hope this makes sense. This file is to track about 100 employees that are on a rotational work schedule.
I have attached a sample file.

I am trying to calculate our On Time Delivery. I want this as a simple percentage of jobs. I have got this running in the following way:
Column M - Estimated Delivery dates
Column N - Actual Delivery dates
Column O - =IF(SUM(M2-N2)>0,1,0)
Then I have calculated On Time Delivery as: =SUM((SUM(O2:O252))/(COUNTA(N2:N252)))
This seems to work fine. My problem is, if we enter a date in Estimated without a corresponding Actual date, the formula for Column O fills out anyway and improves our On Time Delivery Percentage. How can I set this up so that the formula doesn't calculate if there is no data in Column N?

I need a code to distribute each teacher timetable with the following basis:
the number of classes_ the teacher is assinged to work with_multiplied by the number of periods ( which is changeable ).
e.g ; Teacher 1 has 2 classes (1-1 &1-2). Each class should be visited 9 timea a week.
So Teacher 1 should work 18 periods a week
the distribution I need 'd look like the example in Sheet("timetable")
Please don't let me down

I have a Workbook with 2 sheets, the first one is the data entry and the second one contains all the calculations and confidential info.
I have one staff member that does the data entry but I don't want them to see the 2nd sheet. I know I can hide the sheet then protect the entire workbook which does work, but is there an easier way so that the second person doesn't have to keep hiding/unhiding the 2nd sheet?
It would be perfect if when you tried to click on Sheet2, it asked for a password.

I have created an excel spreadsheet to track attendance of an exercise class I am teaching. I would like to know each person's current percent attendance. (so if we have had 5 classes and they have attended 4 of those classes then it should show 80%). I would like it to keep a running tab, so as I add in the person's attendace it will continue that count, up to the 26 classes that are being offered. I thought if I did a sumif/countif I could get it to work, but it doesn't. Here is what I tried: =sumif($e$4:$ad:4,">0")/countif($e$4:$ad$4,">1"). Do you have a suggestion that would work? Thanks!

I have data where if if do the pivot and change the data the out put should be displayed accordingly in the MIS format. Can any one help me how can we do this or is there any other office addins/softwares are available if so the data is changed on a daily basis and if we do the pivot it will automatically copy the data to the MIS format.
